gpc said that calling out someone to their employer for something bad is bull.
based on that, he considers the victims from sandusky's abuse calling him out and getting him in trouble to be "bull" in the end(no pun intended) it was joe paterno who got in trouble and he wasnt the one who did anything "bad" to be "called out to his employer"
You win! Congratulations.

^^^^^^
people do this!??
YIKES
Look i've never been a dj or wanted to be one(as of yet, paris hilton makes me reconsider) so i'll refer to a profession I did want to enter, professional sports.(i think most kids in little league want to)
I used to play baseball when i was younger, my dream as a little kid(no sanduskys, thank goodness) was never to make the varsity team in high school, it was to play for a major league team...That varsity high school thing was easy to accomplish, and we played in a good league and good division, and when i went off to college(with a good baseball program where I would have been teamates with Barry Zito and Michael young) it was pretty apparent that I was not going to make a division 1 baseball team, let alone star on one, and a major league career was not going to happen. I didnt go play an independent minor league, i just stopped.
i guess if i was a "dj" my goal would not be to be a local opener, or a local midcarder or even a local headliner, national opener, or national midcarder, i would want to be an international headliner traveling all the continents and playing big shows, obviously i would need awesome productions(or at least productions that made people go gaga), or some gimmick/costume in order to eventually accomplish this.
i guess some people would be content to simply make the JV high school baseball team.
Ok done,
PLAY BALL JV's!

Sadly, that's the new reality of the DJ game. Either you have to have some productions under your belt, you gotta suck some promoters dick, hang out with the cool kids, or you gotta become the promoter. It's a sad sad game now.
while this is 100% true, there's also nothing stopping local djs from learning how to produce (in case they don't feel like giving blowjobs). so i don't think it's warranted to complain about it. it's just about realizing how the business works these days and adapting. in fact it's almost better because let's be honest it takes alot more to stand out as a producer than a dj. mixing dance music isn't particularly difficult to master.
as for everyone bitching about things going "too far".. personally i think jim carson took things too far when he decided to move to SF and marry the first tranny he met in the castro.
by the way jim, i'll be at mighty tonight if you want to swing by with your wife. we can have a three-way conversation about her musical interests.

That was my point really. I wasnt complaing at all, just explaining that as a local DJ I came to a cross roads. I chose to go one way over the other.
To become a successful international DJ demands a life worth of work, and you are still not assured any sort of success, and the odds are EXTREMELY stacked against you. There are plenty of extremely talented producers living with mom in the basement. And I am greatful for their hard work so that I can play their great music. Even if you are extremely talented, you will still need to be the benifit of timeing, networking, some marketing professional's dedication to your career, etc.
In addition, hanging out with many successful international djs and picking their brains left me to believe that once you actually get to the point where you are getting booked internationally, doesnt mean you will be happy nor is it the amount of $$ you may think. Its a lonely life, living on a plane, getting picked up by strangers, getting booked by shady promoters, etc. Not to mention the sacrafice you will be subjected to in your personal life (non existant)
Not every successful DJ is making 30-50k per gig flying over in private jets and what not. Most of them are in a grind like you wouldnt believe.
I ran the numbers, and figured happyness is much more attainable with a graduate degree and a respectable professional career. Not that i doubted my abilities as a DJ, but I wasnt even sure Id be happy with that life as I approached my 40's. And by that time it would be to late to redirect my life IMO. Foruntately for me I was only 26 and it didnt take me 15 years to figure this out.
I had my fun, met some of my best friends along the way, developed important skills, and moved on with my life. Thank god a took alot of picture so I can look back at the amazing times I had playing all the incredible gigs I achieved. But in the end, I made a decision to grow up and make something of my life. And it feels great
The lesson is, either do it right, or grow up and move on. If it doesnt work out, recognize that and move to plan b before its to late

Send me a pic of what you look like or your Facebook profile and we will swing by.
We were at Mighty last Saturday. Marques Wyatt and Doc Martin were gracious hosts. They threw down and have positive vibes.
