Maybe you're right..Van tried this and the clubs were empty during the extended hours but Montrealers are lengendary all night partiers, plus it depends on the market saturation of clubs too. Van has lots of clubs, maybe too many for its size in the downtown core. Could be a case of apples and oranges.
I just think MC Mario wants to play dirty music, that's all :p |

Passsssskaalllllll is right. St-Laurent has been invaded with a bunch of 19 year olds who can't hold their booze. I'm sure the increase in police presence around that area on Friday-Saturday night confirms that they're having more problems these days.
This isn't even beginning to tackle the subject of wasted girls and guy laying next to a pile of their own puke in the back alleys
I dunno man, I never really partied that hard. Sure I've puked on booze, but I've never been outside a club laying on the cold cement puking my brains out... maybe im getting old (hahah :P) |

When I was 12 or 13 I emailed MC Mario, writing how ty the music he plays is and how Montreal will never know what good dance music is with somebody like him at the controls (he was releasing a lot of CD's back then and I think was more active on the radio, he was pretty much the authority on that stuff).
He wrote back saying blah blah if that is the case why am I where I am and I'm like when people's standards are so low it doesn't take much to succeed. He didn't reply afterwards. |

The cds he recently released arent as bad as they used to be
Btw, he does make a load of money and enjoys what he does. Why would he change his formula ? Because some people like yourself dont enjoy it ? ...
I used to hate what he did, but I started to understand his thinking and I have a lot of respect for what he's done in the city. Even if he plays very commercial stuff, he's the only one who has the balls to put it out on a big radio at regular hours. Kids get to listen to electronic ... commercial stuff yes, but then they get to discover more underground stuff via youtube and social networks and become addicts like us. He opens the doors to electronic music to the masses, then they do the rest themselves. At least he doesnt play ghetto / hip hop stuff right ? |

he just wants it to close at 6am so that the underage girls don't have to worry about not having a bus to go home on after the statutory rape.

the guy is a greasy cum stain.
other than my blatant dislike for him, this idea is very good. It would also mean less drunks on the road. Driving between 3am and 4am anywhere near Montreal can be scary sometimes. |

let me preface this by saying I don't respect artist stealing from other artists. That aint cool even if it does happen every day. However, Mario has done a great job of pushing electronic music in town. Me and all my friends started by listening to cheesy MC Mario and I'm sure another 100000x people and their groups of friends can say the same.
He's actually gotten better lately. He used to be really cheesy and bad but recently he's just been playing out a bunch of SHM + beatport prog top 100 tracks.
Personally I have a lot of respect for the guy and what he's done for the scene. (regardless of all the drama he's had) |
