I think he envisions a secured area, which is basically what Maher was talking about...in an area less likely to disturb residents (downtown).
He positioning this effort as added value to the Quartier des spectacles, to please tourists, which is more likely get the mayor's attention.
Perhaps we could get all bars to close late eventually if we manage to make it happen in a defined area first. It would be a matter of time before other owners put pressure on the city to get the same privilege.
That area would be used as test pilot for the new law. Better than nothing imo!

question: how do you feel about montreal's clubs, bars, shops, malls and restos staying open until 6am?
answer #1 from a female: what are people doing awake at 5am?
answer #2 from a male: mtl is alrdy known internationally as a 'fun' city. why would we want to extend the fun another 3 hours? what's the point?
...they were young people (max 25-30 yrs old) that provided these answers.

ez ez ez - no one said that, we've been in court for the last 2 weeks + still have a few to do. Regie is throwing random stuff at us, and judges aren't biting to their BS. So chances are very low, that we'll get a suspension, which would occur somewhere in mid 2012.
6AM is a must, and there's a lot of good stuff coming out of it for the people, and a lot of good stuff for the club, some say it's stupid, but when you have all the right ideas in head, it's smart :)
We're in contact with TLMEP, might go on TV in the upcoming weeks. |
