Thanks Josh, it's hard to keep everybody happy these days. People will always complain about the talents i bring out. I'm trying to keep the scene alive. Hope you can make it that night. Lets put it this way, NO TRITONAL for sure on any of LMD event again!!! |

When he says the "scene alive" he means Trance. yes, my trance hater fans, Trance has indeed keep EDM alive since 1999. And..... no Techno, noisey House, or minimal is a new thing. Progressive so called HOUSE is just Trance slowed down.

Proper progressive is not trance. There was a time when it was just called "prog" or "progressive" without the need to attach "house" to it.
A genre of trance came about from Progressive (House) ...you know, progressive trance? It was when they took progressive and added *gasp* trance elements. This was an era where if you listend to a prog trance DJ or a prog house DJ, half their sets would be a lot of the same tracks.
I remember when "trance" used to have a lot more environmental sounds in it, in the 90s. And prog was faster then. Most prog now is like 120-124. Back then it was prob 126-132. Then you had gabber, hardcore, etc that was like 140 to who knows what.
Then the synths from even higher BPM genres came in and people use that sound to define trance in the mid-high 130s. Today that range with those synths is often called uplifting or epic trance). THen after time, all the music slowed down. Prog house went slower, and as trance slowed down and became more progressive, progressive trance came about and took over the old prog house range.
Right now most "trance" DJs start in the high 120s or low 130s (if that) in their sets. Several BPM from what those same DJs started with 8-10 years ago. Ask any person who has opened for 10+ years how they have had to slow down their sets because the headliners have slowed down.
This all said, a good bit of what passes as prog house these days is def more of prog trance. Those DJs (usually new DJs) who play it just aren't educated on the history of the genres. |

Proper Progressive Trance is not Progressive House
Proper Tech House is not Progressive House
Proper Progressive House is not Tech Trance
Proper Electro is not Progressive House nor Trance
Proper House is not Trance nor Progressive
Proper Trance may have Progressive elements but usually not Tech
Proper Techno is not Progressive Trance but may border on Prog House
Proper music disregards all this genre bull and focuses on quality, which sounds great, though it may blur genres or even sound great in most any genre.
Improper music is just bad, varying by degree from unpleasant to projectile vomit. It is the origin of Cheese Trance and Waa Waa House. |
