Off course there's a ton of artist who are better than him, but none of them has had the impact Guetta has. Because of Guetta's work with mainstream acts, house went through the roof. Off course he wasn't the only one to do it either, but his work and contributions on the mainstream are what made him popular and his music.

he's insanely popular in the netherlands, they LOVE that there. no clue why
i had one of his songs on my old computer that my dutch friend gave to me as a "haha look at this " it was like 99% overdriven and overdistorted bass such that you couldnt hear anything except for the occasionally word drop (which was screamed into a $5 microphone)

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie. I used to like it back in high school in the 90's. lol I even have some vinyl, but I thought that was long gone. lol

The awards are in Holland, right? Not all that surprising that he'd be booed.
I'm not happy about Guetta being #1, but Armin didn't really deserve that spot either. It was time for someone else to have it.
I'm hoping this wakes up the big trance DJs and they start making trance again. Then again, it could have the opposite effect and send them all down the Tiesto path. :(
