There's nothing wrong with idealism, in an idealistic world people would be free to do whatever they wanted for a career, and music would be completely free to anyone who wanted it.
Hell, you could even make that fly in a socialized system where the government would pay musicians a salary for creating music, which would be free to anyone who wanted to d/l it from the master servers.
Expanding on the idea a bit (since I've thought about this several times before) you could have each citizen get an ID and pass to access the master system to d/l music with a certain cap per month.
The artists would continue to be on the pay roll as long as the number of d/l's exceeded some defined number to make sure that only people who were actually contributing got paid.
Idealistic? Sure...but there's nothing wrong with wanting the world to be a better place...it's a lot better than being a jaded ponce IMO. |

I dont understand greedy people who DONT like to share their music...what's the point of having the newest releases n such when youre the only one enjoying it.
Stop flaming the newbies for not knowing the new hottest tune and share.

its an easy concept to understand... if you're the only kid with the newest toy, then you're special and you don't want to share with others. its called being an elitist.
as for the hub issue of only having 2 slots open, i only have one slot open, why? cause my upload is capped at 16k/s by my isp, so even if i opened 10 slots, they'd all get 1.6k/s which is lame, =P. |

I think we should share. I'm into trance because once, a school teacher decided to share electronic music with his students. Maybe, I would be still listening to crappy radio pop-dance, but I'm not, thanks to him.
What if they don't like what you like? If they came to you, that's because they're interested. I'd rather be know by someone who shares cool music with people than being some kid with the newest toy...

this is why i don't share my music unless it's on the net, or unless they actually do show an interest in trance

I have 2 close friends that i like to share with. When i hear something new, i cant wait to share it with them.
the thing that i always find funny and true is that...
everytime i burn a mix, they end up liking tracks that i least suspect. And not the ones that I thought they would.
just like how everyone's taste varies here. |

and my sharing with rock and metal buffs is officialy over. they always say trance is and think we're wusses for listening to it. wtf do i have to prove something to them.
