This is the first thing that came to mind when I first saw them go off. As the saying goes, if it's not broken, don't fix it. Stereo was certainly not broken before these jets came in.

However, I really have to say that the candle decor was amazingly well done. I didn't even realize they were candles at first until someone pointed it out to me. A lot of work must have gone into that and it really set the atmosphere for Halloween perfectly.

First of all I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the new room it was really cool and the candles hanging from the ceiling, very nice. I also have to give huge props to the VJ, amaaaaaazing visuals, best I've ever seen. Opening set was good but too low energy for me... Especially that it was so long (past 5) I was expecting it to get pumping way earlier. Ricardos set was.. Well.. Divided in 2. His song selection was very cool! I loved the way he was playing, unique style that I've never heard before. His remixing and transitions however... Disastrous to say the least. Maybe it has something to do with all the abcdghbemdmk he was on, just maybe. Overall I had a sick time, nice people, sick costume and the amazing stereo vibe as usual.
Too bad I had to leave kinda early

See y'all at dubfire

Just a chilling space. I wish they could of replaced it with a massage spot :)

If they brought back the massage tables AND put in jets, they should just turn into a goddamn foam club.

I'm glad there's another room just to chill though. The old Stereo had so many places to hide away. The new one is so open and exposed that this song creeps into my head every time I go

Does anyone know what time Ricardo stopped playing?

Completely agree with you! set really lacked direction.

Anyway, I had a very good night, Stereo was not as packed as expected and crowd was perfect.

Good review on the facebook event wall :

"I know a little about minimal German sounds and I know they can often be minimal to the point of flat-out boring. But I had good expectations of Villalobos, because he should know that North America likes more energy and should adjust his set to fit that. But I was disappointed.

The set lacked energy in general and most people were just standing around nodding to the beat with hands in pockets. I actually saw a few people ASLEEP. He would occasionally start to make a build that put enough energy in to actually dance to, but unfortunately would follow that up with a bad crossmix or a drop to silence for five seconds in a major anticlimax.

I can't blame this on Villalobos, he's playing what he knows and what he does... however I don't think it was a great fit for Stereo. It's a better fit for lounges, Piknik, or home chilling on the couch, not when you're in the middle of the dance floor at 7am and craving energy to lift you up."

Overall fun night. Can't say I was a huge fan of Villalobos though. I had a tough time following where he was trying to go. Hats off to maher and nadir, musically the closing set was my fav of the night. There was 1 track about 45min into the closing set tht you played nadir that was just nuts. Had a bit of a proggy bassline with a real afterhours groove. Wish I could explain it more cause I wanna know what it was, lol

Also I agree that the set had no flow. As in he didn't really have a climax and such.

i gotta disagree. there were detached moments, yes, but also some moments of brilliance.

and the fact that u can barely ID anything he plays is so awesome
