Not only did I find 4 hours to listen to this once, I found another 4 to listen to it again. It will be taking up space on my mp3 player for a while to come too, very, very good. Loved the structure, the funky, the dreamy and the acid all blended together excellenty.

Totally agree with everything Jack said

Definately one of the best things I've ever acquired from this forum

And yeah, I hope I didn't come across as being mean or negative with my comments... since there's a lot of stuff I do really like about the mix, and it's still impressive how you somehow manage to tie the diverse tracklist together.

Oh right, moombahTON, not THON. I thought a "moombathon" was some sort of crazy carnival somewhere in the world or something. You're right as far as the reggae/caribbean inspiration goes. The tune by Supa Dups, for instance, IS an actual dancehall riddim (pitched up to +10 or so). People from the US keep pointing out the similarities between UK Funky (which is what this kind stuff is labeled over here) and reggaeton, so this doesn't surprise me.

Oh yeah, and no worries, I fully expect people to dislike parts of the set, considering how much ground it covers.

Sequencing seems fairly obvious to me - it fits a standard "build it up and bring it down again" structure. I guess you don't hear that kind of set as often anymore, as it suits longer sets and it's rarer to hear a DJ play for extended periods.

Definitely true. I'm also worried that it is becoming a lost art, since clubnights are now increasingly soundtracked by producers, who never really knew how the DJ/dancefloor-dynamic works.

Also, don't get it twisted because I didn't say thanks to you in particular the first time around: I'm really flattered that you're this convinced about my talent. It's good to see that people still care about what I want to do with these sets, actually.

Hoooooly . This. This for me now.

Listened to part 1 while on the road. Loved the way the mix progresses and how you swing moods. I just got on the highway the moment the acid bit starts: amazing
High hopes for part 2 now. :)

quite enjoyed this, i just had to find time to listen to it, because i did want to do do it in one run. the mixing was good and really took you up and down and did it well. there wasn't anything that i disliked, it was in your usual high quality.

the highlights was many and almost to many to mention but the first acid section was obviously one, the uk funky and garage house section right after the big peaking section was also immense but the last 30minutes was delightful.

big ups for using that claussell remix and in a proper setting.

That tune is just some Champions' League , where you can tell that much love and effort went into it to make something really special. Playing anything less than all fifteen minutes of it would be scandalous, if you ask me.

Cheers for listening, as always.

Hi Jan Henrik, I really wanted to thank you for putting this marathon mix together. It's fantastic. It's like the long version of Sand Leaper - Likes Drums. There is so much energy, so much fun, so much bounce, driving beats; I love the journey you take us on, and yes, that final song, as you know, one of my favourites (thanks Tony!) is just the perfect finish.

Cheers, glad you liked it. Yeah, when I'm in the club, I like to hear loads of percussion, and that's what part 1 is all about. I think I'm gonna dedicate my next trance set to percussion, actually, although whether I will upload it here or not remains to be seen. I've uploaded so many trance sets here already, and I need to keep trying new stuff.

Absolutely pumped to listen to this in the office this afternoon. Tracklist looks fantastic.

That Martyn track is so mega. This set is still doing the rounds for me. I have been hesitant to review as I haven't been able to give it a full and attentive listen-through, but it has all been very good from what I've heard so far.

Yeah, I'm only a half hour into the first part and can already tell I'm going to love this.
Mattinsanity
I wasn't feeling it when I first listened last month but I'll have to listen again and drop a remark.
