| The guy doesn't know that a major occupy channel on livestream is broadcasting his stream along with a few other spots and there's probably 11,000-12,000 people watching. He just knows his ustream number.....lots of ppl witnessing this. |

| About to go down again. Cops just warned that if they do not leave in 5 minutes they will be forced to leave with "chemical agents". |

| is this Occupy thing really working? I'm all for it... but do protests really work nowadays? |

Protests can work - they do all over the world. It's just here too many people get irritated with the protests when nothing comes out of it quickly. It can take weeks, months, or years.
That said, I'm not sure if I'm for it all or not. I'm simply crazily intrigued. But I do understand the frustration. And I do understand how they feel they can't do much - don't have a voice. People may not support them, but I still have yet to see one person - whether a friend, on the radio, on TV, or anything - come up with a good alternative. Everyone says go vote and make change -- yeah, that's made a lot of difference in the past. Everyone says they should be on the white house because the corporations haven't broken any laws. There are no laws because the corporations own the government -- plus where's the simple thing of moral responsibility? Few corporations show it. And people are pissed. |

They have already raised the tax burden on the rich in Isreal.
And you can't vote to make changes anymore. Everyone who runs for president in a D or R seat is in the pocket of corporations and the rich. Until they remove the electoral college (such a stupid system), or change it with something better (don't ask me) there really isn't a point of voting, is there? I will still vote, knowing it wont make a difference.
When you have the white house posting up petitions online asking "the people" what issues, laws, policies, etc, they want changed and then you hand waive every single one of them it just goes to show...
There are other people who are better at writing things out than me, but here you go. Just a few thoughts. |
