I'm actually surprised Dettmann wasn't higher.
ME TOO !
That was the biggest surprise for me, honestly. He was my number 1 vote, and, reading through the thread where ppl posted who they had voted for, he seemed to be getting a ton of love.
Another sort-of surprise for me - Danny Daze at 55. He burst on the scene with that track (which is, admittedly, quite dope) but I haven't much else to merit such a high placing.
As for Jamie Jones - good on him. Saw him a handful of times this year and he never once disappointed.
yeah for maceo plex :D
The only real omission that made me scratch my head a bit is Kassem Mosse. Then again, I think I voted for him as a 'live act' as he played a live set when I saw him.

No Nico Jaar. :conf:
Doesn't he do a live act? I heard all it was is him singing into a tin can. So revolutionary~

He speaks spanish bro. Spanish. English is too mainstream.

They don't like anything that they liked over 5 years ago.
(seriously, check their older reviews. 4s and 5s for several trance releases, not to mention that other unmentionable genre they used to cover, prog.)

Very appropriate that this video is in Leeds. Just about everyone on the list has played in this city in the last year. Such a painfully trendy scene around here, so boring.

They also bash the 2006 minimal whenever its possible :p
But I think you also have to take into account that RA was a much smaller website back then.
