What a classic! Those were the good Trance days with Tiesto/Ferry/Armin owning it :). They weren't soo cheezy/commercial back then.

^pretty much any of the tracks which were on the "ibiza's children" video here on TA quite a few years ago have the same nostalgia factor :toothless

I started making music because I wanted to pick up all kinds of bitches. Is there any other reason bro.

I actually seriously got into EDM because of video games. It's ok. I'm Asian. :p

During junior high there was this station called Energy 107 that used to play this 'techno' music, which turned out to be a lot of euro. To high school, I was the only guy in my group of friends who liked 'techno', so I ended up listening to a lot of punk/alternative and even some heavy metal. (If you know me, you'd think this as really freaking weird)

Moved to Kitchener for uni, and one day, picked up this game called FIFA 2002 and the soundtrack had this tune

Looking up the soundtrack led to finding gouryella, ferry and to the (formerly) wonderful world of trance. (I guess this is why I'll always have a soft spot for Ferry) FIFA02 still has one of best EDM based soundtracks for a video game, along with SSX3.

I didn't start clubbing pretty hard until 04 when I went to a TA meet up and it all went downhill from there...

My taste in EDM has evolved a lot, from being a trance junkie to experimenting and appreciating pretty much every genre of EDM. (though I find this nu disco sound to be pretty groovy, along with a dose of prog, and deep house) Picking up DJing as a hobby has led to some really frustrating moments as EDM lover, but also got me to really appreciate what EDM is. (and fortunate enough to be able to share my love of EDM with others)

I'm freaking old (at age 29, but I look 22 ;)), but I still find music to be refreshing, and clubbing to be fun. Perhaps because I haven't done much clubbing outside Toronto area, so partying in a new city has always been a fun experience for me. (Well, except going to Vision in Chicago) Only went to Stereo and Circus for the first time this year...

Hopefully will get to visit Mtl at least few times in the new year. (If you see a weird Asian guy in an... interesting hat, do say hi) ;)

Since video games are a popular gateway, I'll put up a couple from what I consider to be the best video game soundtrack ever. Wipeout XL for Playstation, 1996.

This first one is so f**ing win!!
