It's pretty much this, the condescending attitude. That's it.
She blew the whole transgender and female/male equality conversations way overboard, as if most of us are giant chauvinist pigs or oppressed and unintelligent women.

You can be an annoying and aggressive individual, no matter your gender, sexual preference and lifestyle.

If she has left, it's a shame for the musical knowledge and many other topics, but no big loss from a personality perspective.

This is it. I think in the end he/she became so confused of who they wanted to be and all the efforts that they were putting into becoming it that they stopped being the person who many people actually respected the opinion of for a while if not always agreed with or liked it. By the end it was just too much and even music discussion wise the theo parrish was just typical of what became somebody who was unable to rationalise things if they included somebody who they liked regardless of what the debate was about, for example just like the Armin fanboys of 2004-7 who couldn't grasp that people could find his earlier more creative and original sounding pieces better than the watered down for the masses tripe it became.

Jack also makes good points but I'm rarely one to agree with him let alone quote him to point it out so hopefully nobody reads this little bit where I give him his dues for once :o

Being completely honest here - by the time she left, Avana had become an utterly obnoxious self-parody who contributed nothing and made every discussion about herself. But, once upon a time, Adam was a very interesting person to debate with and a great DJ to boot. I know we only get to see a small sliver of someone's nature on a forum, and I know she claimed she was much happier now, but in TA terms, it really was as though the gender change effectively destroyed her personality, because she started posting much, much less in MD, posting far fewer mixes and spending more and more time in the midst of a self-righteous storm in the COR. Can't tell if that was just residual over-defensiveness from the original -storm she faced when going through what was obviously an extremely tough process, or whether becoming transgender allowed her to run riot with the white, middle-class male dream of being marginalised and minoritised. Even the mixes started becoming transgender themed.

Anyway, to the nefardec of 2011 I say: good ing riddance. By the way Jay, if she really was trolling and using transgenderist hardship entirely as a pretext to wind people up, she was a ing cunt. She doesn't come out looking too good either way, really.

I'd happily have back the nefardec of 2008/2009, though. Actually get a little nostalgic thinking of mixes like Solstice and Dream Of The Earth. I can remember listening to those in the final year of university while studying or chilling out in my tiny box of a bedroom. Most of his/her best mixes are archived here: http://www.avanavana.com/mixes/.

was in the random talking thread when nou pissed her off one time; if you go through there you'll find it, was on one of the million tangents she went off on, about being a real woman, so no way I'm searching for it :p

*It was just literally a photo of a letter from her doctor saying "Avana Vana (or whatever her name is) is considered a woman physically and mentally and has completed all physical transitions" etc, not really "worth seeing", it was just ridiculous that she posted it :stongue:

+1-- Lira, you should be able to recognise a bigot

Well, since she's different in a way, my first reaction was to give her the benefit of the doubt: maybe she had a unique insight, and she was better trained to spot something I couldn't see. Only with time did it become clear that her logic was as consistent as flan...

God, I'm really craving for some flan right now. Why isn't it New Year's Eve yet!?

I guess you never went in MD.
