I owe 50 grand on my student line of credit, which I don't have to start paying off until next July. However, I aim to have that paid off in 2-3 years. :)

I try to keep at least $5,000 in my checking/savings accounts. Plus whatever I have in my 401k. Last time I checked that was about $25,000.

bills are paid, no debts other than the mortgage.

we've been tight liquid wise since we moved... no room to put anything aside like we usually do. with Christmas , renos costing a little more than planned, moving costing a small fortune...I really can't wait to get back some of that wiggle room when I don't have these expenses anymore. I want to go to Argentina.
