my last mortgage was 5.27%. This time I went with a Jew friend from high school who got me a great rate and gave me a break on fees. I didnt want to lock in for 30, so in 5 years I'm sure I can do even better when it's time to renew. Canadian lending rates tend to be good...we paid 25% up front so it's very manageable. I'm only worried about the market value in 5 years...the housing market here is due for a downturn. I won't lose value but I think it will only appreciate by 5% a year which barely pays the interest if I sell. The market is at around 9% right now. I can live with that much better because us gay French like money and not sleeping in their mommy's basements. |
