Well, you mentioned it first - what else does faggotry means other than sodomy and playing mutual endoscopy?
If you know more about this topic, then you're much more informed about the arts of butt pirating than I am :p |

Edit: Back on topic, even if someone uses "spiritual" to say they rely on emotions and intuition I'd be very suspicious. After all, emotions and intuition are among the most common excuses for irrational nonsense. |

Actually, I'm much more likely to blame faulty logic:

For example, a common argument for the existence of souls tend to go like this:- There are animate creatures and inanimate stuff;
- There's something different between the two;
- It must then be a thing - an élan vital.
Because this may appeal to someone's emotions (OMG, I'm immortal AND special!) and intuitions (I knew it!), you're likely to see this nonsense defended by people who put emotions above everything else. |

Come on, surely some of the stuff I lifted from wikipedia must have been somewhat relevant? |

I appreciate there are many people who mean "I believe in nonsensical new age " when they say it, but those people are subordinate - there are also many people who don't mean that. |
so what DO they really mean when they describe themselves as spiritual then, other than this:

It means that they don't identify with any particular religion, but they wish to emphasize that they nevertheless do not subscribe to the practice of forming beliefs based on reason. |

I'm not sure I can agree with this: I believe following your heart is as important as scrutinising your every thought carefully. Does this make me spiritual? No. It just makes me a fluffy atheist who doesn't believe in spirits, souls, mystical energies, or in a higher consciousness of any sort. That is, someone not at all spiritual, but still likely to hug you for no good reason :p |
:)
Spirituallity is a lame term anyway. Reality all the way baby!. Although there are subtle energies that permeate the body, they are not mystical in any sense. It's all natural. |
