Although some of the same types of DJs are booked by both, its hardly a "raging war" since the two have completly different business models, target audiences, and location of their operations.
oranges vs tangerines
I think that a more appropriate claim would be LA is turned into Lakers vs. Clippers! Ya the Lakers have 16 Banners on the wall, the clips have none, but they are looking to win the division and appear to be a front runner for the western conference title. With the tendencies of LA fans, I wouldnt be surprised at how many new fans the Clippers would gain should they win a title this year or next:D |
This will forever be a Lakers town. There are no real Cluppers fans except people who watch like 5-10 games a year. Most of them are more into other teams like the Dodgers or Angels and happen to like the clippers. Today on campus I've seen 5 Lakers Jerseys and not a single Clippers one. The Lakers have the same amount of wins and a favorable schedule down the line, yet they are holding a players only meeting while the Clippers think they're going to win every championship for the next 20 years. Just goes to show how sad the.Clippers are and their ”fans” |

As a life long laker fan, Id like to believe you. Not that I think the cippers will even win 1 championship, but if they were somehow able to win 2 or 3 in a row with CP3 and Griffin, while the lakers fall off and Kobe's career winds down, you would be surprised how the tides would change.
Have you been to LAX recently? There are now sections of Clipper gear competing with Laker gear. This has never been the case as long as I have lived, and its only been a few months since CP3 came aboard.
LA is all about the moment, and whos hot or winning now. Although we have 2 of the most storied franchises in all of sports (lakers and Dodgers) you will be surprised how much loyalty fans lack
Just look at the dodgers last year. They suck, owner is a disaster, attendance WAY down. Angels now have pujols, and will sell out most of the year if they are competing. |

the Lakers!!!!
Warriors BABYYY!!!
I'm an anti-Laker fan just b/c it's fun to hate on them. One of the reasons I hate them is exactly what Josh explained. Too many band wagon hoppers in LA. People root for a team b/c they are winning. You can already see it with the Clippers. People sport a Lakers jersey b/c its the cool thing to do.
i know there are some die hard laker fans out there that would root for the Lakers no matter what. Those guys are the best guys to tease when the Lakers LOSEEE!! |

It was nice when we had Vanguard vs. Avalon every Saturday night. I wish we could get big names at Vanguard again...
...I think Vanguard is closed for a remodel though.... |

the crowd at vanguard was terrible (douchebag central), and when giant left it was pretty much all downhill
from what i hear, the crowd at avalon and exchange is far better, so vanguard. |

and thats the night i was referring to. all these la exchange artists on fridays are the types that were getting booked at 1015 on saturdays.
as for la.
vanguard with giant/insomniac was ok... but remember that events ended at 4am. how was the washer situation? i only went to one event there during the heyday, bob sinclar april 2008 thanks to blowzo(what happened to that guy?)
avalon talent wasnt quite my cup of tea, but i'd go there in 2003-2005 when they had hip hop on fridays/avaland saturdays.
had more fun catching edm shows in sd when you could see 2 headliners at one venue on back to back days(on broadway via eventvibe) and then starting in 2007 san francisco ruby skye fri/sat, and sat. at diez quince calle folsom, pura pinchi pari! |

I'll take douchbags over washers any day of the week! I'll even take Guidos over Washers! Washers keep me away from Avalon! |

Yeah my friends love to tease me when the Lakers lose in the playoffs. But the diehard Lakers fans like myself are byfar some of the most knowledgeable basketball fans I've ever met. Every team has a diehard population, but the Lakers just get the flack because of the celebrities. Go to the 300s section at Lakers games and you'd swear they have the loudest arena in the league. It's just the celebrities price out the common fan.
Now you wanna talk about bandwaggon fans, the Warriors were the definition of it back in 07. All of a sudden every mother****** in the Bay area had a Baron Davis/Stephen Jackson jersey overnight???? Lmao, at least if you had a Biederins one I'd respect you |
