That's because you're old.:p
Absolutely. Bald too. And to be clear, the folks I referenced above are the ones who would clearly be geeking out solely over the "cocaine & ketamine" reference, and nothing else.
I've had the unfortunate experience of seeing people absolutely disinterested by this track go mental the first time they hear the word "cocaine" and it makes me feel like puking on Bruno Ponsanato's shoes.

I love playing "Do You Smoke Pot".
I have the vocal samples set to all 8 hot cues in TSP. I can't remember the last time I played the track, but the samples get rinsed on the regular.

That's pretty weak, but the posers are everywhere man. Not much you can do about it.

You're right, and again, it's just one of those things where a very certain breed of kids gets under my skin.
At times I actually enjoy being around the "nu-rave" (read: Avicii/Dubstep/Hardwell/etc.") crowd more than I do the so-called "hipster" crowd.
In general though, your appraisal of me as "old" is largely accurate. My residency is in a tiki themed lounge where I can play Miles Davis and Tanner Ross, Tribe and LCD soundsystem, Patrice Rushen and Lemon Jelly, all in the same night. I like a quieter, laid back, relaxed environment with minimal teeth grinding and k-holes.
So yeah. Grains of salt and all that.

Oh Rob, come on, I was just teasing.
I get you though, maybe a certain level of snobbery in the scene in general. But I think location, the party itself, etc are also really big factors. Maybe in my naivety I don't see it so black and white. I've met amazing people at really druggy parties, some not so great at not so druggy parties and vice versa.

Oh no man, you're spot on - it's all shades of gray, and my favorite party ever starts at 7AM on Memorial Day at arguably the most professionally cracked out festival in the States.
The one thing that is black and white, however, is the fact that I can't keep up anymore - and that's on no one but me. :p

Need I say More?
Don't give up, man. The music is more important than all that bull.
Chimney
This is one of my favourite roof-top videos. It features:
1. Coolest guy ever (4:14)
2. Lee Foss so high he doesn't even know where he is.
3. A prominent TA member.
4. An asian chick who's shades are bigger than her head.
OT: If someone would make me a .gif of the guy at 4:14, I'd appreciate it forever.

Did what? I am, thankfully, unaware of any Green Velvet and/or Cajmere tracks in this vein.
As such, I am confuse. You'd have been better off going with a Benoit and Sergio reference there :p
I do love me some "Millie Vanillie", however.
Edit: Also, just so it's clear I'm not a full on Fur Coat hater, I still can this almost nightly:
cmon man it was like his most mainstream hit.

I didn't remember it until the hook, then instantly had flashbacks to John Acquaviva in Detroit circa 2006.
I'm sure I raved.

Nah . The chicks are pretty nice too. Especially the one in the white dress. ;)
