ONLY sounds kinds local and fun, sounded like a good mix of stuff and minimal dub :)
edit: forgot i bought a ticket for the Vain party... people said the dude was good, but know nothing about it. was only $10 so dont care if i ditch. |
Aircraft hanger party? Last one I ever heard about was in 1997, had Alice DJ, Eifel 65 and fat boy slim. Sounds intriguing none the less |

Honestly, don't even feel like going for the 2nd day.
I saw all that I needed to see at neon Garden last night, anything else is just terrible music with a bunch of ed up teenagers.
Sorry, but after seeing Calderone, Craig, Loco, and Richie tear it apart at neon garden, there is absolutely no reason to go deal with that ty crowd to see a bunch of pop-crap EDM music.
That was an absolutely incredible night of music. Jaw-dropping. Among the best events I've ever been to. Too bad the rest of the festival is nothing like that. |

| Hawtin destroyed, as he does every time I've seen him. Loco was great, and I really enjoyed Calderone's set. Wish I could have seen more than an hour of Gaiser but he was a monster in the hour I saw |

| I was really digging Craig's set too man...his offerings were very diverse and just had an experimental Detroit feel and he even mixed in some psy-trancey sounding ...was def jamming out to that. I loved that stage, had an intimate feeling but still big enough, reminded me of the stages at DEMF. Was perfect for those set of DJs. |

Man the tech stage was where the party was. Despite the numbers of people actually there. Plenty of room to dance, sit, chill, bathrooms nearby empty most of the time, food and drinks, etc. What else could you have asked for? The day got gradually better and then Hawtin stepped up to the decks. After watching these guys last night I am more disenfranchised with trance and its DJ's. These guys didn't play a single thing that sounded anything with elements from dubstep and electro house. Wish I could say the same from Cosmic and Markus, but I can't.
Let me talk about the crowd. Wow, the crowd was awful anywhere but at the Tech stage. There was a stretch of time during Markus where I was feeling the music and I couldn't dance because bro's and the typical 40-girl chain train that runs through the crowd, but in the end I didn't expect anything better from that stage.
TL;DR: I love you Trance but Techno is coming up strong, watch out! |

Ugh...what a disappointing weekend. I wish I would have stayed at the tech house stage friday. Cosmic Gate was brutal and I'd never seen markus schulz before and wanted to catch his set and then we ended up leaving soon after that bc we were so tired from the long day. I thought Markus had the best set I heard all weekend (we were only there from 7-10 on Friday and 7-1145 on Saturday)
Saturday was a total ing letdown. Morgan Page and Tritonal played almost nothing but cheesy commerical bull. I expected that from MP, but was hoping for a lot more from Tritonal. And then there was Armin. This made the 5th time I'd seen him and while he had his moments, this was the first time I didn't thoroughly enjoy him live. It just seemed like everyone was catering to the crowd made up of almost nothing but kids. I found it pretty ironic when we left for the night at 11:30, we popped our heads into the afrojack stage - didn't seem much different from what armin of people was playing lol! Granted we listened to afrojack for all of 60 seconds.
The other annoying thing about EDC was that there was nothing but a bunch of kids ed up out of their minds actin a fool. I will say the production and sound setup seemed on point at least. I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old and too picky wishing the old trance sound from 2000-late 2000's was still going strong. I think I'll stick to club settings from here on out. |

to each his own i guess, i had a great couple of days. its not ultra or edc vegas, but was all around good fun. met some great new friends and had a blast. Ended up at firestone, was a fun time.
I will agree with some of the crowd observations tho.. |
