Sylenth1 vs Zebra2

I own both, and in continuing to learn synthesis I thought I'd pan for experienced opinions. Do I need both? Are they that different when you get down to it?

Just trying to prune a bit, and wondering if it's worth it to keep both synths, or if I should sell one off.

u owned him :p

Zebra without a doubt. It is so much better, so many more features and arguably the best synth being sold right now.

What a ing stupid thread.

Zebras GUI is rubbish

If you want to learn synth programming then definitely Sylenth.

There's a case for keeping both anyway, Sylenth has it's own character despite being so 'limited'

But yeah, ontopic, I agree with this:

I find sylenths GUI just silly. Having to go to B section. the filter routing let alone how bad they sound. Zebra manages to make a semi modular synth that is just so intuitive having everything on the same page while offering exponentially more features. Sylenth also isn't being developed. Zebra is just on another level. Sylenth is rubbish compared to Zebra. There is absolutely nothing in sylenth , Zebra can't do better. So much that honestly, it is a no brainer at least if you know synthesis and have used enough to see the pros and cons.

Actually there's a good bit of discussion around on the merits of Sylenth so I was looking for more of an actual experienced opinion than the 5 threads everyone can see in Google. Thanks to those that've used both just panning for more experienced input.

The folks on KVR are plenty experienced. So are many producers here who might offer a different perspective. Thanks though. L4C and tehlord, that's more the kind of input I was after. Thank you.

Well I don't find Zebras GUI intuitive at all. I know exactly what everything does and where it all goes, but I find the process of sound design on there a chore. And for me, Zebra doesn't do the fizzy stabby trance sound as well as Sylenth. Apart from that I agree that it's superior in every possible way.

Another synth that a total PITA to program but hugely powerful is Synthmaster. It's a monster.
