definitely! listen to "american beauty" and "mental boy" on the american beauty soundtrack. music in shawshank and AB is made by thomas newman.
for me sad music is not always sad. i mean of course you feel the sadness but at the same time you hear how beautiful the track actually is. and that makes me kinda feel good. hard to understand?
