It does sound like an oxymoron, but let me lay out an example:
Am I predestined to type the words I'm typing right now? No, it's free will and God blessed us with fingers to type.
Do we have a choice when it comes to who our parents are and when/where/how we were born? No, that was predetermined by God because he handpicked us to be be alive with unique features.
