What Soundcard to go for now.

Hi All,

I'm on the look out for a new soundcard and was wondering what some of you recommend.

I've not been producing music for a few years now, but now i want to get back into it.

I've got a M-audio Delta 1010lt which runs through my mixer but i'm de-cluttering and only going ITB. So no need for a mixing desk or 10 channel audio.

I need to plug headphones and my Monitors into it and a keyboard and that's it.

So what would people recommend.

thanks

i'm pretty happy with my traktor audio 2. cheap, great DACs, came with a full version of traktor remix 2.5. you can't hook up any midi hardware to it though - just get a usb keyboard :)

yeah i'm going to look into a usb keyboard just don't know what one to get lol

M-Audio was just bought by InMusic, so at least they're not part of Avid any more; which gives me high hopes for the customer support at least

Oh really? I wasn't aware of that.

Just get a used Saffire 6 on Ebay.

There's millions of them about.

blatant spam but not without good reason ;)

up on ebay now - 20 starting bids, grab yourself a bargain. worked for my basic home setup for ages. 2in/2out, midi, spdif and decent mixer software as well.

Depends on how much you are willing to spend.
I would probably go for the Echo Audiofire 4 which is known for having excellent converters.

around 100-200 Mark.

Tehlord I was thinking of the saffire

If you're not recording audio then converters are irrelevant. You may hear a slight difference to the sound through monitors while you're mixing (although at this pricepoint probably not) but it won't effect the sound of the mix in any way.

Saffire's usually go for about 100 on Ebay.

Spend the rest on your keyboard!
