so yeah...Carola and Tenaglia the same weekend?
first 100 tickets at $100 (gone) the rest at $55

WTF!!?? $55?
There is no reason why it should be so expensive...especially when he plays in tdot the next night, on a saturday, for a 5.5 hr set, at a smaller venue, for $25...
And yes I know they sell alcohol, but its not like anyone actually buys booze at that place. Considering dubfire is 40 at stereo, should not be anymore than that. |

| I thought that was a mistake at first, but just checked it. They want $55 for Corolla on a Friday night? That's ridiculous. I can understand charging that for DT on a saturday, but not otherwise. Not a taste judgement at all, but unless there's something I'm missing, that ticket price will really hurt the night. I'm just glad I got my DT tix for $20 :D |

lol are you kidding me? Footwork's bar is always rammed right up until last call.
On the topic of $55, maybe you guys are forgetting that Marco Carola is probably one of the most expensive bookings on the underground circuit. At that price, I am almost certain Stereo is charging a fair price in order to cover operating costs, pay Marco's likely ridiculously high fee, and make a fair profit to compensate the owners. This is especially understandable given the context of no booze sales.
I find clubs and festivals get a lot of criticism for charging high prices, when the fans should be really blaming the artists who are charging higher and higher fees every year. |

| I'm not trying to assign blame to anyone. I'm just saying that getting people to come to Stereo on a Friday is an uphill fight unless it's a headliner with a very large following, much less charging $55 to see them. I'm not trying to diminish Corolla at all, I'm just surprised they went ahead with the booking knowing the costs behind it. |

| Carola did the hottest party in Ibiza this summer and he's not a Stereo regular, he will get a crowd out. He's probably going to play past noon anyway. |

Most people at footwork take drugs and maybe a few drinks. The few dozen that actually spend money at the bar does not account for double the ticket price...considering stereo has 5x the capacity of that hole. And not to mention the premium of saturday night bookings.
Me and a few friends were pretty interested in making the trek from otown to see him but were all instantly turned off by the price tag.
And I'm not so sure that it'll be a guaranteed packed house when you look at the number of bookings stereo has that month, plus the weekly superstar bookings that new gas city is putting out. |
