And for 's sake, can I have at least ONE WEEK of continuous summer before it goes back to dull autumn grey again, the way it is 90% of the year anyway?
Nope! Enjoy!
This was my biggest complaint, living in the UK. The weather really sucks. Sure, it's ed coming from Brisbane, and saying this kind of thing, but I liked the people in the UK, the banter in the UK, and the fun in the UK.... just not the weather.
I understand why pub-culture is so prevalent over there, now :p

LOL I just moved to Toronto or as some people like to call it, the New York of Canada, but before I have time to settle in and get used to it, I'll be going on vacation. It can't be that bad...met some really nice people so far. I guess we'll see how it goes. Maybe you'll see my personality change over time and turn into a total douchebag due to living here LOL.
People are nice in Toronto. Generally Canadians are very polite, no question about that. It's the social aspect though thats crazy. You won't find people randomly chatting with strangers on the subway, women in bars have this attitude of 'impress me or get the out', the guys are all over women like dogs. It really is incredible, but theres like this barrier between men and women. Just go to any toronto clubbing website with party pictures and youre bound to see an insane number of pictures of a group of girls without a single guy. , a close friend of mine is going to europe for a yacht week and I asked if I could join in for a day or two as I was going to be in Greece near their course; NO, sorry, no men allowed. Its pretty sickening.
Its not bad in Toronto. Its just that if your looking for a social life with European characteristics, forget about Canada. You won't see patios, private coffee shops, bars outside with people filling them.... North Americans are obsessed with branding and wont step inside a place of business that doesnt have a logo. Why else are there almost NO coffee shops other than Tim Hortons and Starbucks? Why else are there so many fast food chains? Why else does every single place of business have a full blown logo? In Poland half the business dont even have a proper name... instead of Midas or Mr. Lube youd just see 'Oil Change'. Even malls contribute to this problem. Instead of being exposed to the outside, people are thrown indoors. Instead of being social, theyre busy shopping for .
That isnt to say Toronto doesnt have at all an outdoor feel, it does, but its limiting. I'm currently in Wroclaw, Poland. On a Tuesday night in the city square all the patios were *filled* and are open until early in the morning. THIS is exactly thats missing in Toronto. Once 5pm rolls around, people run home and rot. And if there are places open to gather with friends, dont expect anything to be open past 11pm. Ive lived in Kitchener/Waterloo and would often times finish work at 10pm. Everytime I wanted to go out with a friend there was literally NOWHERE to go, only ONE coffee shop/restaurant was open until about midnight and thats it... 1am on weekends.
And thats how it rolls in Toronto, people work and do all else on weekdays and go in party mode on weekends visiting the same ing clubs, listening to the same ing top 40 music being around the same ing type of people.
There are some nice gems though in T.O, personally I love Foundation Room and Stone Lounge. The decors is actually different but more importantly the music isnt some by lady gaga or others.
I've spent the last 7 weeks in Europe and have a few days left... I've been to Poland, Norway, Germany, France, Luxembourg, Austria, Hungary... and even Turkey (though not part of Europe). Its such a different world here... people work to live... its the opposite in north america.
Anyway, you should post a thread in the Toronto forum and ask about some cool spots to check into. Its not all terrible in Toronto, you just have to look *really* hard to find interesting places. Do look into the two clubs I mentioned, theyre pretty awesome.

Worst: Toronto, Canada. Mainly because of the dull, charmless, boring dimwits that live there.
Ouch Selma... that hurts... *points to heart* right here.

I live in Toronto. I'm starting to hate it.... reasons:
2) Toronto women are cold and career focused. Try talking to them at a club and more often than not you'll face the Female Torontonian Bitch Shield. God forbid you date a girl in Toronto, and it will feel like an interview.
4) People are very nice in general, just not when youre trying to pick up a girl, lol. I blame the guys too though, theres too many douchebags in this city.
Don't blame the ladies of Toronto, pal... the problem is you. I always found Toronto women to be pretty friendly and had absolutely no trouble picking up ladies. It's all in your approach. You; clearly, have no game.

Right, and she wants to stay here for good. I haven't the slightest idea why.
sounds like a buddy of mine. After failing to impress a woman with words he, very casually, pulled his unit out of his panta, leaving it sit there in plain sight and subtly motioned to it. It did not work out as he had planned.

I can relate to the earlier sentiments about Ohio. It's rather uninspiring and there are a lot of whack jobs, being that we're so close to the Bible belt.
But it's kinda all I know, so... ::shrug::
