i don't own a smart phone. I bought an iphone but i need real buttons and just gave it to my girlfriend. I still use my old phone from like 2008. My girlfriend gets embarrassed when i bust it out. And she is always ing checking her facebook and tweating and doing check ins. Even if we are eating out somewhere nice. I also have to like her updates or i get in trouble. I literally have a 5 minute block every day where i go thru her profile and click like on everything. I do carry an ipad around which has access to my computers at home. I can check the cameras, I can send the same email i would send from my ipad on a super expensive computer. But ya. i've never embraced phone technology. I even have an ipod touch for listening to music. I just hate using phones that don't have physical buttons. I don't trust them. Like i need to hear a beep and have a physical indication that a button was pressed.

I don't really mind it. It's kind of possessive to think that if you're out with someone that you deserve 100% of their attention all the time. If you think it's insulting that someone texts people when they're out with you, it seems equally selfish that you expect them to give you their full undivided attention at all times.

You're just saying that because you're used to people not paying attention to you.

Oh wow you're so right, you really know how to cut to the core of me.

If only I had more useless knowledge about music, soccer, and nothing else, then maybe people would pay attention to me.

You're clearly fascinating if the last girl you were seeing was on her phone even while you were trying to talk to her :haha:

I love how incapable you are of dealing with banter.

Being a condescending prick isn't banter.

I just don't really get it. I mean i know she is listening and it isn't constant but I wouldn't even think to check it until i got home. I think some people are a little too into their social media stuff. And i don't think it is a matter of possession. Just mutual respect ? Like i don't steal the conversation and go do a monologue which i have a really bad habit of doing so I remind myself that nobody cares and then ask her questions about her day.

Also when you are paying the 300$ check, well. She picks the restaurant on purpose , then tweats it. Like i'm supporting her tweats financially. And then she takes a picture of us and she always takes the ones that make her look great and me , well I just don't know my angles. I've been told i look better in low light.

And expecting the attention of someone you've made plans to see isn't selfish. But why would anyone ever devote less than 100% of their attention to such a quick-witted and charismatic fellow as you, Russell?
