Highly recommended that you check out CZ for Halloween on Sunday the 28th. Go around 6 or 7am (earlier if you don't want to wait in line) to see the best day of the year! You'll either love it or hate it. CZ isn't near as good as it used to be but Hallowe'en is your best bet to catch the old vibe and the best djs (friday night lineups aren't as good as Sundays)
Friday they're open midnight-9am
Sundays mornings are 3am-11am and again 8pm-4am (wristband from the morning gets you in at night)

It is by far the place I had the most fun partying in the city. People usually say it is "sketchy" but I saw more sketchy things in Guvernment than in comfort zone. Even the crowd in Footwork can be pretty sketchy at some events.
Cz really can't be beat on long weekends and I heard it was really rammed at each of the recent long weekends. That's why I go there only a few times each year and it's always so much fun! I would just hope they'll bring more international dj's as they did in the past and also that they diversify more the music style of the resident djs. |

I remember going back in the day seeing the roaches, paranoid jack in the morning, I was just experiencing that type of music for the first time, they brought some amazing tunes; There were other djs, and im not sure who was playing actually, it was dark as near the booth(good variety of muskc though). Awesome sketchy asian people feeding me joints, great people all around, funny at least. Went a few times after after hours, and it wasnt even a quarter as good. ;\
Havent been there recently, not really allured to go. |

Can anyone share their thoughts about or experiences at the Comfort Zone? I've partied in Toronto quite a few times but this is one place I have yet to experience. I have heard some really mixed things about it. I keep hearing this place is awesome. I also keep hearing this place is unbelievably sketchy, but really what after hours doesn't have a sketchy element? |
CZ is definitely worth checking out. I had been curious about the venue for some time until I made a visit this summer with a few friends following a Sunnyside party. The music was phenomenal. The sound system was insane. I had the perfect amount of space to dance right in front of the DJ booth. I didn't notice any outstandingly sketchy behaviour; mind you, I wasn't looking for any. I suspect the drug use, etc. at CZ compares to that of any of the other venues EDM is played at. |

CZ is amazing! the people, the vibe, the music, the sound. its another world once you step inside that place and thats what makes it what it is. i was there again this past easter weekend and had the time of my life. felt so comfortable, safe and did not see really any sketch as you would have years ago. definitely a place worth checking out for yourself, especially over a holiday weekend.
i really hope CZ does step the game up a bit with the international bookings. the residents are second to none, but its been forever since ive seen a headliner on the lineup. doesnt hurt to have some change every once in a while. |

Music is always off the hook. I usually hit it up saturday night/sunday morning. lol
But yeah would be nice to see some more international Dj's not that the locals don't do an amazing job.
Steve lawler after maison in November, one can only hope. |

Other than the raid 4 years ago and all the the attention after from the cops, this is the biggest downfall of cz in the last few years. They've gotten so lazy with bookings. Every week is the same djs with almost no rotation and they almost never bring in internationals anymore. I'll give them credit for starting to bring in new locals just recently (after they stopped the weekly 24 hour marathons surprisingly) but for years there was almost no variance. When I started going there, they used to bring in guys like Eric Entrena, Anthony Attalla, Rene Amesz and more on regular Sundays (I've got the flyers all over my wall). Now it's surprising if they bring in an guest dj on a long weekend, which used to be a sure shot for seeing someone out of town, nevermind a Sunday. I honestly don't get it. It's like they just stopped caring about keeping things fresh or are just too cheap to spend the extra money. No wonder the place closes in the afternoon on Sundays now. Platform should start trying to book a lot of their djs at cz for after parties. Imagine the possibilities! |
