I have read that some of the 'Day Discos' in the UK play Hard Trance.
That's a little much for noon for me. |
i think that is the best time for hard trance......I'm just getting going by then. |

| I've been a few times in the last couple years.....nothing better then getting up at 7 am and driving down to toronto for some CZ. It isn't anything like it was 10 years ago but still has the best atmosphere for getting dirty |

You're right about that but the bookings dropped off long before he was let go. |

Ahhh CZ, only been a few times - generally had a good time, although these days the idea of 'getting up at 6-7am sunday to go partying' isn't very appealing to me, and if I've been out late on a Saturday night - come 6am, I'm looking forward to getting home and going to another club seems moderately absurd.
First time I went was dunno, nearly 9 or 10 years ago? for the 'sketch' hype it had, didn't seem that bad - and if anything, has tamed down since then.
Last time I went to go is when Cari Lekebusch was supposed to be playing. I pay my cover, then my friend points to a sign I didn't see saying that he wasn't making it that night. I get my money back, but the guy working the door says "Whats it matter?, not like it has Lyrics to sing along to or anything like that" |

Meh, I've been there alone many times. I end up talking to other people anyway or they end up talking to me. I haven't been going to CZ as long some other folks here in this thread but yeah it is 'gay friendly' and I've heard some amazing sets there, some that are even better than what the international DJs can provide at times. Greg Gow is pretty safe, I like how he varies it up by playing some melodic stuff at times. I think some guys just play track after track with no peaks and valleys and it can get...boring for a lack of a better word. Peter Zurub is pretty good as well and Ovi M too.
Overall...it's a friendly crowd and vibe (for some 'obvious' reasons but still!). Yeah I mean it can be really sketchy but not the type of sketchiness where you feel you're gonna be jumped or anything. |

cz is nowhere as sketchy as it once was...pre-bust, yes. The last year or 2, it hasn't been bad (nor busy). My suggestion is go on Friday. It's been packed and reviews have been "like the good ol days" with good vibes and people just wanting to dance. You can tune in on 100.7fm for live to air :toothless |
Agreed.
I remember going pre 2008 and wow what it a whole "different" atmosphere. A lot of the G monkeys and homeless people have faded from the scene, and the crowd seems much younger lately.
Fridays are getting pretty good, both the music and the people seem to have an awesome vibe, feels like the old days again!

One of his tracks was just recently played on Adam Beyers drumcode radio. Big up Toronto.

Quite a few big djs have been playing out/charting that track. I wonder how long it'll be before we lose him like we did Carlo & The Junkies |
