So Prydz is doing this show for free to make it affordable to make up for Beekman. Which is awesome, but now I'm really curious about the math...
So, $40 per person. According to wikipedia, for a dance party at Roseland capacity is about 2,500. So tickets alone, RPM and Livenation will be raking in $100,000.
Where does all this money go, if they aren't paying him? Am I just really naive for thinking it shouldn't cost that much for production and paychecks for everyone involved? I really don't know anything about the business side but that just seems really off to me.

I would assume he would pull in $30-50k for a big performance. So if a ticket was normally $60 and we took that off, $40 makes sense. You still have to rent out Roseland and cover his travel - plus I'm sure production costs are in there too.

i really dont know why prydz himself feel's like he has to turn down his fee in order to play? he's not the one who did anything wrong at beekman, it was those greedy people from pacha who oversold and booked him and a venue they knew he would pack out. if anything they should be taking the loss. but no they will def be making a nice chunk of change off of this show
if they had any sort of human emotion they would donate half of the profits to cityharvest or something like that. there's alot of people out there who cant have a proper thanksgiving the following day...just saying
as for this event, i will wait to see what other parties get announced before i commit to buying a ticket

roseland is an extremely pricey venue to rent out. thats where the majority of it will go alone. plus sound, lights, security, etc
