So can you, if you actually want to play this music on the bus, in the car, at work or at a friend-who-isn't-an-obnoxious-trendster's house. So laugh it up.

Music should be available to music fans, not just DJs and people who like owning records. No surprise that when you go to any trendy house night the crowd is polluted by wankers who don't give a about music and are involved purely for the sake of appearances.

SYSTEM-J
Here's one of those wankers. You finally managed to get through Acid Trax yet, Mark?

Why is it that the two guys whose posts in MD I like the most, absolutely loathe eachother? :clown:

I got Solemn Days and Invisible Bitch Slap on repress. Those are Deconstruct but same parent label. The pressure can only build up for so long and then he's going to start doing runs of the Novel Sound as well I'm guessing.

He said in an interview sorta recently that he's planning to do deconstruct represses as well a CD comp. I hope it's out decently soon. Six Figures hhhhnnngh.

And what about going vinyl-only as a means to avoid digital piracy?

How in the name of god does vinyl-only avoid digital piracy? All it does is it makes people play mediocre vinyl rips of your tracks. Even huge vinyl people such as DVS1 and Shifted have started doing digital precisely for that reason. As an artist you have to be pretty mobird to be fine with most of your fans playing your work in mediocre quality.

Also, you have to realize that some of the people that run these vinyl only labels only play vinyl and releasing digitally is not even an option they would consider.

Oh come on. Even the biggest vinyl people occasionally play unreleased tracks on CDJs. And Nowadays even most people that do vinyl only produce their on, or at least with major help of a computer. So the music comes out in digital format and then they purposely limit it to analog which is just ing bull. The worst are the people that produce their on a computer, play live with ableton, give all their DJ friends a digital copy and then release vinyl only. Like, how much more hypocritical can you get.
Adam420
It is very hypocritical.

Look, guys, I don't hope for stuff to come out on vinyl only. It's just when something is vinyl only, and I choose to invest in it, I hope for it to stay that way. In an ideal world everything would come out digitally. I'd never not want that to be the case.

And Woony, I recently read an interview with a techno DJ/producer called Myles Serge (I'm sure you're familiar with him) and I'm just using him as an example. I read an article with him recently where he said he's never even used CDJs in his life. This guy runs 2 or 3 labels and is a perfect example of a guy who couldn't be arsed to release digitally. Same for guys like the Analogue Cops.

Anyway it's also the case that a lot of this vinyl only stuff these days is pretty ing dancefloor oriented and so isn't really the most ideal to listen to on the bus or whatever. As for people playing vinyl rips at clubs, well, good for them but it's not something I'd be likely to do.

It just makes you really ing cool to release vinyl only. Limited press? Even better.

It's like I'm really playing at the Paradise Garage!
