Yah I read an article afterwards. Since Apple has their own chips designed for the iPad and iPhone, they might as well have them again for the desktops and laptops.

The article says that they plan on moving to AMD chips, intel's competitor.
Storyteller
That would be killer, if they did. 1 step forward, 2 steps back
junkproject
This might gave AMD some revenue it needs, but right now it's only a rumor. AMD is bleeding so much money right now. Losing to Intel and nvidia on cpu and gpu front.
fluxburn
The A6 chip comes from ARM, not AMD. Lots of chip makers in the game.

ARM is only useful in appliances where you'd need superior battery lifetime. And if Apple decides to go with AMD instead of Intel then it's bye bye to the mac lovers precious stability.

I wasn't doubting you. I just think it's funny that Apple keeps going back and forth. They're like a women who can't decide.

not sure what the the mini ipad is. I mean if it is an ipad for asians or iphone for giants, just ing say so.

If this is priced more than what a parent would spend for a kid for a toy, it will flop and apple will start to crumble.

The mac pro is only really needed for graphics people. Thunderbolt made it obsolete for audio in pretty much most cases. Unless you own say a super symphony system like I do.

What if you do audio, don't need the system but still want it to be easily upgradable like I do? Oh, and not necessarily pay through the nose for TB drives.

I'm still feeling that 2010 8-core

I have 8 G raid thunderbolt 4 GB drives. Suck on that.

Imac is about as upgradable as a mac pro. I mean honestly, ram and hardrives is what most people change. Unless you are running a supper apogee symphony that requires pciex and also want 6 monitors. like i am.

I thought the new ones were all but sealed units?

I guess a last gen i7 iMac that I could actually get inside would be ok. Do they take 16GB?

I'd still prefer a Mac Pro though, I suspect I'll need 4HDD's soon.
Looney4Clooney
yup. 32 gb i'm pretty sure although they will tell you it won't.
