Think about it this way, if the right has its way and devolves a majority federal power down to the states, the left states would ultimately be the winners. They already are mostly self reliant, contributing more federal income tax than right wing states.
If the right could also get rid of federal income tax, progressive states could more easily increase their own state income taxes (or implement their own) and reap all the benefits with out having to support the psychopaths in the states that do not agree with the idea of a federal government.
Going further than that, why not just have those left wing states, which tend to be grouped together geographically become their own independent, sovereign nations?
If the federal government is the enemy, then why have it at all? Most of the progressive states would be fine on their own, while the right, the ones who want to destroy everything they touch, would be left to their own devices, sinking in a burden of failed, mythical, economic and social policy.
If this ever happens, then I'd be the first to propose very strong border control. We can't have the border jumpers from the deep south and the mid-west trying to come in and leech off our success. ;)

| Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but didn't you threaten to report Del/ TA to some authority for file sharing and have the whole site shut down? And didn't you say something along the lines of 'I'm really sorry to do this guys but you've left me no choice etc. ' It was around the time I was pregnant with Rowan, 2005/2006. Why is all the Nou deleted? Does anyone remember this more accurately? |

Neo banned me over a joke I made about a thread Chris Crossland made when he was stationed in Okinawa (he said he was bored and looking for something to do, I said "don't rape Japanese school girls" in reference to an incident that happened there with US military personnel). I got pissed and said I'd post pics of the FSA, replacing every image I had ever posted on TA with it and Neo said (this was all on IRC) he'd delete all my forum posts. I said I was joking and we were done with it. I got home that night and found that actually all my posts had been deleted. He said it was an accident and he resigned as a moderator. I was ing pissed and decided to be a bitch and threaten to post the FSA shots, etc.
So yea thats that. |

Yea and I was 20 and I don't think it was really a freak out. I wasn't like out of my head. :p
Jay was how old when he decided to get emo as and go all mental and write disturbing suicide addled letters to TA? Russell... well... Yea.
Anyway, whatever. I've had some ty blows come my way but I've never seriously considered ending my life lol or having a mental break down. |
