This statement means absolutely nothing. Nothing. What the hell are you saying here? Who the are any of us to say anything, ever? Who the do you think you are that you get to call people "fags" or "clueless dweebs"? I must have missed the post where you uploaded your CV with the necessary credentials to insult an entire thread full of people, and then start getting more humble-than-thou when someone else returns the favour.

Your reading comprehension is lacking, I did not insult the entire thread. If you were offended you probably care way too much about these kids playing at a club, therefore you are a whiny fag. You know there are countless of other clubs in Ibiza alone right? Since when has it not been about money on that commercial side of things? How do these kids shock or offend anyone? It's the world we live in.

Like, who the do you think you are that you get to claim what does or doesn't annoy another human being? If this thread annoyed you, why did you carry on reading it? Why did you insist on responding with a post that literally begins "Whine whine whine boo hoo...."

Exactly.

This thread doesn't annoy me, it's kind of funny that people associate things like this with an entire world of dance music (it's honestly right there on my first post). If you think this is "a pretty good focalisation of something that's happening all over the world" then whatever, but if you think it somehow represents the entire scene then you're a "clueless dweeb". I don't just toss around insults to "swagger" and "sneer", there is a reason for the things I say. I don't have a filter, if I think you're spewing nonsense I'll say it. It doesn't give what I say any credibility, you take it as you may.

And what is there to elaborate on at length? I really, really don't like you and every post you make seems to go out of its way to have an obnoxious subtext of affected worldlines. It's like you're unable to get over the fact you started listening to dance music at a young age and have dealt with the inevitable condescension by trying too hard to appear knowledgeable and hip. You clearly don't realise it, but you talk exactly like a member of the tech house wanker crew, except without the decade of trance remission and cocaine use to give it a veneer of jaded plausibility. You were ing around on CDJs at 13? Nice one, save it for your DJ biography. You'd appear a lot more knowledgeable and cool if you ever posted something informative and insightful, rather than just swaggering around sneering vaguely at people.

For someone who's never met me, you have me all worked out.

And to deal with the one part of your post that ever comes close to having a discussion on this topic:

There are hundreds and hundreds of great DJs in this world who cannot get a gig playing in front of people because they don't play the bull game of sucking up to promoters, fiending for Facebook fans and likes, having one "signature sound" they play at every gig or releasing their own terrible productions to build a profile. I know quite a few myself. It is always ing bull when you see someone in the DJ booth who has no business being there, and these children are little more than a circus show. You may as well train a couple of chimps to mix and then play back-to-back, because the novelty factor would bring even more morons through the door and drive up bar profits.

And no, this doesn't speak for every single party, but it's a pretty good focalisation of something that's happening all over the world. The field of DJs has become massively over-saturated and diluted, and talented music lovers are being denied a fair chance by novelty acts who don't get the basics right. I utterly fail to see what is "cool" about this. The fact you don't seem to be aware of this issue, and are dazzled by a couple of kids redlining every mix (when as L4C says, there are child prodigies who can play instruments at the highest level), tells me everything I need to know about your knowledge of "the scene". You may have shuffled around on a couple of LA rooftops at 122bpm, but that doesn't mean you know jack .

There is absolutely nothing on this post I'm unaware of. Again, you assume way too much.

I happen to not lump the entire world of dance music together. I understand there are two sides of the coin. The commercial side and the real thing. I wouldn't pay to go see these kids, I simply find it cool they're getting a head start. I'm not "dazzled" by it.

Your problem, Jack, is that you're too high-and-mighty to accept that there may be another point of view just as reasonable as yours. You're too far up your own ass to actually question what I say here instead of just blindly attacking it. What I would say about you is that you are actually jaded. Kids playing to a room full of clueless tourist ACTUALLY bothers you to the core. That, my friend, is a sad existence.

I skip through the drama exchanges after about 3 back and forths. I just stop reading. What does everyone else do?

Yeah, you sure didn't sound annoyed:

Whine whine whine boo hoo....

So many fags on this board, let the kids play to a room full of tourists who cares. Pretty cool if you ask me, I started ing around on cdj's when I was also about that age.

If you're at the stage of denying the obvious then save your keyboard the abuse, because you're clearly going to say anything you can think of to save face.

You're not a very complex person.

And finally, there aren't two sides of the same coin. It isn't commercial/real deal. This is a myth perpetuated primarily by DJs and record labels who want to make a lot of money but not own up to the fact, so they present themselves as an "underground" alternative to David Guetta and Deadmau5. The end result is a lot of superclubs branding themselves as "warehouses" and people who earn five figures per gig trying to pass themselves off as "underground". Just because this is "commercial" doesn't mean it's totally divorced from what's happening elsewhere in dance music.

But you probably already knew that, right? You just said it anyway.

Why not? You understand that's, like, your opinion, right?
SYSTEM-J
Almost everything that has been written in this thread is, like, opinion. Why do you keep repeating this?

... but when distributors began demanding easy selling vocal tracks, even the label "Strictly Rhythm" betrayed the promise of it's own name by churning out strictly vocal after strictly vocal. Most Europeans still think "Deep House" means ty, high energy vocal house.

Because you seem to be oblivious to the fact that you don't own the truth. You keep trying to force your one dimensional view of the world of dance music down my throat, attempting to psychoanalyze me from half-way around the world while throwing jabs at me. Why can't you just accept the fact that we have different points of view?

I don't live in LA by the way you dumb cunt.
SYSTEM-J
You call people "fags" and "dweebs" if they express an opinion you don't agree with, but you're crying because I'm throwing jabs at you. I really can't stress this hypocrisy enough. After your post in this thread, you have no right to complain.

And yes, that's my opinion, and I will continue to express it.

:stongue:

I'm not complaining, I'm simply telling you it will get you nowhere. Why don't you just add me to your ignore list already? Why keep doing this?

You think one way, I think another. Get over it. Just as you're entitled to your voice, so am I.
