prydz said he priced his show to only recover costs for production, etc.
it ended up being $40.
the production was INSANE. it was technically, $40/ticket worth of promotion.
so all these other shows we always see.. that are over $40 but less produced than the prydz show.. means that the promoters/DJs are just greedy s, right? :conf:

Not necessarily, it costs a lot of money to throw a show (not even considering the risk and losses on other shows), but also keep in mind that more often than not it's the DJ that drives the price - not the promoter. During negotiations and contracting the DJ takes into account the capacity and ticket price (usually the max of what they think they can get away with) to determine their fee.

If the tier BS keeps up should promoters cap the amount of tickets one person could get on each tier? Kind of BS when someone buys 10 tickets for two of his buddies and the rest for profit.

Don't forget he did that because of the fustercluck that was Beekman earlier in the summer. Had he charged for his performance it would've been more (although I think I got his tix at Beekman for $45-50 so I don't think it was that much more).

Well its all stupid because immediately after it sold out there was at least 40 tickets available on StubHub for GA starting at $160.
Actually... I just looked and there are still 40 tickets available starting at $160. I guess that's not bad, because if Roseland's capacity is 3k, that's a VERY small percentage (less than 2%).

Well hopefully these tickets are never sold or are sold for below face value. I have a feeling it was artificially kept at a lower amount because it was consistently at 40 for a few days and jumped to 60 today. Might just be my imagination lol

Well I heard now for the Armin show on NYE they are making the owners pick up a wristband or something as proof of entry to prevent scalping. If true, I'm glad their trying to do something about it.

You cant deny that those mofos came up with some of the greatest melodies in trance. sigh.... that was one of the last, if not the last, trance track they produced.

they've fallen off but i wouldn't go as far as saying they don't do trance anymore. alchemy was great.
on a more positive note, i think the best thing coming out of anjuan right now (and maybe in all of dance music) is definitely andrew bayer. this guy is a genius. REALLY hoping he's on the bill.
