Skrillex trying his hand at the Burial style... (pg. 4)

Ah yes, those phonographs everyone was listening to in 1983.

And what on Earth is the connection between Nico Jaar and Burial?

Nico Jaar doesn't purposely try to make his music sound "cool" by adding in vinyl-sounding crackles into it.

I know. I'm talking about the stuff he made solo after he left. It's probably worse than the band stuff.

How did you get this absurd idea into your head that Burial only adds crackles for coolness cred? You can do crackles right or wrong and he's the prime example for doing it right. His stuff probably wouldn't work without the crackles. He doesn't just add crackles after for no reason. It fits with his music.

Ahhh, ok. Yeah, I had no idea. Other than some friends having that From First to Last cd in high school, I dunno what that stuff sounds like.

So in other words, there's no connection whatsoever?

The phonograph reference was clearly hyperbole.

You should just go back to insulting me directly because you clearly suck at whatever it is you're trying to do.

The connection is that the same people who praise Burial on this site, blast Nico Jaar for no reason other than his sounding pretentious. I specifically remember his "baroque" comment regarding his upcoming EP/album. But no, when Burial makes his music sound ty for the hipsterfags who think it's cool to have an mp3 of a song that sounds like it's being played on vinyl that's totally awesome.

I posted one. There's more on youtube. It's utterly horrible which is why it's so surprising that he suddenly pumps out trend-setting, hyper produced only a few laters.

Get mad.

RA ranked Nico pretty high, maybe you should go hang out over there? They aren't "hipsterfags" at all.

I'll check it out once I get home from the office, just to see. :P

Actually currently re-listening to Burial's first album for the first time in a while.

Pointing out how hypocritical you are shouldn't really be classified as anger.
