I'll quote myself again

How did you get this absurd idea into your head that Burial only adds crackles for coolness cred? You can do crackles right or wrong and he's the prime example for doing it right. His stuff probably wouldn't work without the crackles. He doesn't just add crackles after for no reason. It fits with his music.

Oh you kids and your crackles. Back in my day crackles weren't sampled in DAWs.

The connection is that the same people who praise Burial on this site, blast Nico Jaar for no reason other than his sounding pretentious. I specifically remember his "baroque" comment regarding his upcoming EP/album. But no, when Burial makes his music sound ty for the hipsterfags who think it's cool to have an mp3 of a song that sounds like it's being played on vinyl that's totally awesome.

Yes, I've grasped that your months-long SARCASTIC TYPING campaign is a typical SRUSSELL reaction to someone slighting your point of view. I'm just curious as to why you're venting it all against Burial and not any of the other widely-respected artists that TA collectively likes.

And stripping aside hyperbole and sarcasm, please get back to me on how Burial literally sounds like his music is from 30 years ago.

I posted one. There's more on youtube. It's utterly horrible which is why it's so surprising that he suddenly pumps out trend-setting, hyper produced only a few laters.

Sonny Moor - Father Said.... It sounds pretty similar to what he was making in the My Name Is Skrillex EP with vocals similar to what he did with From First to Last and a more pop-like structure. I mean it's not particularly good but the actual production aspect seems pretty on par.

You don't mean like J00F do you?

I meant in the days when record players were the norm. I tend to forget we're in the second decade of the 2000s.

Ah yes, that other "hipsterfag" staple.
Woony
Trance is the new Burial.

Did you not mention "widely respected artists that TA collectively likes", and is that not the direct quote in which I was responding to?

I thought people who were good at arguing wouldn't typically use straw men. You must be a jack of all trades.

Does TA even have many "widely respected" artists? Most threads seem to devolve into this type of anyways. There are a wide range of tastes here.

Why do you even care what the group of people that post here think?
srussell0018
To be honest, I'm not really sure.

Well forgive me if I'm mistaken, but I took it that your intention is to point out the "hypocrisy" of people on TA who bash a "pretentious" producer you happen to like, whilst liking another producer who is (apparently) just as pretentious. But then you mentioned J00F, so perhaps your intention is to simply lash out impotently at Music Discussion as a vague whole, like a childish brat.
srussell0018
You asked why I would lash out at Burial in specific, and not at any of the other widely accepted artists. I pointed out that you're wrong in that regard. All I was doing was pointing out that what you said wasn't true, so I'm not sure where you got the whole "so perhaps your intention is to simply lash out impotently at Music Discussion as a vague whole like a childish brat." thing.

Oh right, it's that you misconstrue arguments and comments and take them out of context to fit whatever point you're trying to make. It's funny because people on this site seem to think you're so good at arguing/debating, but you're really not. You're just very good at misdirection.
