Very good. Demo it for a while and make your own opinion about it. IMO definitely in the top 10 in the endless sea of VSTi's. |

if i had space and a small penis
would probably start buying boutique modules and create a huge modular that looks like something they would of used to do first order derivatives in 1960.
Would find a way to implement guitar pedals and do all the power converting, and also have a way to have control of the phase of all the ossilators , enveloppes and what not.
Maybe a custom roland 100 system as a base
Doepfer sysstem as well as a base
then buy every module that exists.
And then post pictures on websites were poor people go. Like a rap site or something. |

I recently discovered there was a module called the Borg filter.
Reason enough to own a modular. |

I might just grab a Minitaur as well as they're really quite a bargain. |

Looking at an Andromeda next week........ |
Damn, dude, you're all over the map! Personally, my order of preference would probably go:
DSI P12
DSI Poly Evolver
DSI P08 (could swap positions with the PE, though)
Andromeda

Mintaur (actually, this wouldn't even make my list - not impressed)
I had a boner for an A6 a few years ago when the hype was through the roof, there was confusion over whether or not it was actually discontinued, and the prices were skyrocketing. Then, I got a chance to buy one at well below the going rate at the time, so I started taking a really hard and objective look at it. I decided that it was probably the most vanilla sounding analogue synth on the market. It sounded good, yes, but very vanilla and it really only seemed to excel at a few types of sounds. I went from gaga to underwhelmed over the course of about 2 days of listening to demos and reading reviews. They do have a total "cool" factor about them and they are a modern classic, but I personally can't see spending that much on one, given the other choices out there.
The new DSI P12 has me very intrigued - intrigued enough that I'm considering replacing my Virus TI2 with a P12 and a Snow. But, I'm also very interested in seeing what Nord has in store in the coming weeks when they announce their new synth at Musikmesse '13.

I've actually found it quite difficult to not just say yes to everything, but I need to keep the final purchase list as sensible as possible.
The thing about the A6 is that I've hankered after one for a while, and one's come up on Ebay (with a low BIN price) that's about 3 miles from where I live so I have to go have a look!
The one I keep changing is the Dave Smith synths. Ultimately I'd prefer a good Poly Evolver but they don't come up to often. I might just grab a P08 PE for now and wait and see what the P12 is like as I'm not sure it's doing much new. There's already the Virus, V-Synth and I've sourced a Waldorf Q as well so I'm not sure what else it might add.
I suspect the Nord will be another stage synth, I hope not though. |

I would bet my house that it's not a Stage. They've clearly stated that this new release is about their "synth roots." The Stage series is primarily a piano, with limited synth/organ controls - the "synth roots" statement would definitely not apply to that. Besides, the image shows the position of the mod wheel and pitch stick below the knobs - totally different form factor than the Stage series, but just like the Leads/Wave. I'm guessing that it's the long-awaited Lead 4, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it's a Wave2 (although I doubt it and hope not), or a more basic and compact synth designed to compete against the Mophox4, UltraNova, Gaia, etc. |

| I really hope it's a Lead 4 as well. I'd probably buy one without demo'ing it :p |
