Some things (especially after-parties) can go on past 9am but they're pretty rare. But apparently in North America people often wake up in the morning and go out clubbing at mid-day?

Some time soon I will have to go over to Canada and US just to do some partying, because we all talk at each other on this forum like it's just dance music and just clubbing, but there's clearly huge differences in how it's done in different countries.

Yeah, in NA they enforce "last call" no alcohol policies. People take "disco naps", wake up, drop some jenkem, and dance until the afternoon. Stereo is one of the better clubs I've ever been to, although it is not the same anymore.

In summer, when the club closes, you go to an island and party outside with International DJs at Piknik Electronik.

I think it's more that they keep the party going on for longer. I mean, I'd treasure my downtime when I was on drugs, but if there was a club that was open 24/7 I'd definitely hang out there when everything else closed down. People like to dance around.

Clubbing in UK felt pretty much like clubbing in Oslo. America might be different though. I don't think the cultures match up as well as the british and norwegian.

So does the club stay open after last call? What kind of time does the bar shut? And do international DJs play earlier or later in the night?

I've noticed that DJs tend to play much longer sets in NA, which may be because the clubs stay open for so long. In the UK it's got to the point where 3 hours is called an "extended set" and is hyped on the flyer. You almost never hear a DJ play for 4+ hours.

Mostly garbage here in Dayton, OH... save for the local gay club, "Masque"... which actually has a killer setup (Funktion One sound system, $500k lighting rig, etc.). But I haven't had the opportunity to play there, yet.

Other than that, it's mostly mediocre venues with the occasional fun show.

I go to Output and Cielo often. Both are owned by the same person, both have a Funktion One sound system and both are up there with the best sounding clubs in the world as far as I know. But to be honest, I much rather go to a loft party in Williamsburg than deal with New York club staff.

Nothing, really. A bunch of hiphop clubs, some top 40/VIP type , and then a bunch of smaller venues where local promoters put on shows. I generally hit some of those up.

I have been lost on my way to DC10 for years, is all I know.

I believe he's making fun of you because most of us would kill to be in a place nearly as awesome. You said in the other thread you went to see Hybrid as if it were something normal.. if Hybrid came here, my post would've started with something like "After quitting my job and making sure nothing stopped me from enjoying this once in a lifetime opportunity, I camped in front of a nightclub and..." :p
