US Navy moves destroyer toward NK

US dispatches F22s for joint exercise with SK

China mobilizing troops at NK border

Let's not forget about the B2 bombers

All of this tension is giving me a huge boner. Even though this is most likely just sabre rattling that will lead to nothing, I can always dream that the US will continue spreading freedom throughout the world.

For those who aren't trolling and are actually curious, this is a great interview about the issue: http://www.cfr.org/north-korea/nort...al_flurr-040113

Really we need to just stop sending them humanitarian aid. It's just propping up the crazies and will most likely lead to more South Koreans dying, not to mention the eventual destruction of the North.

DPRK could not withstand the retaliation should they chose to attack an ally of USA. And they know this very well.
Their allegience with China has also seen some blows lately, and while North Korea still is as poor as when they became allies, China has enjoyed the better part of 50 years of economic growth. One can easily say Chinas worldview has changed somewhat. Plus Kim-Jong Un is not Kim Il-Sung. They also trade alot with South Korea, and the way I see it, the only way I can see that NK would dare a large scale attack was if they had China in their back, and I don't see that happening, in any other way than maybe as DPRK acting as a puppet in a larger chinese agenda. Maybe Japan will support them if they're promised parts of South Korea, but I doubt that's an agreement that will ever take place.
I think, and hope, this is just one of their regular flex-strut along the beachwalk. And as long as America has a clear presence in East Asia, I don't think any major escalations of the conflict is imminent.

Seems to be the usual bluff. Hope so.

A South Korean executive who employs 1,400 North Korean workers told the AP, a day after returning from the Kaesong plant for a visit, “Tension rises almost every year when it’s time for the U.S.-South Korean drills to take place, but as soon as those drills end, things quickly return to normal.” He added, “I think and hope that this time won’t be different.”

North Korea has never shut down Kaesong Industrial Park, before. The article is biased in thinking that North Korea is the only side of this conflict that can ease tensions, which is dead wrong. The North's actions so far do reflect past periods of tension, but only up to the part where the park is closed. Kaesong wasn't shut down after the Cheonan incident or Battle of Daecheong. After the Bombardment of Yeonpyeong, it was SOUTH Korea that froze visits to Kaesong. Nobody knows what would happen if the North closed the Park. And to speculate they would attack is simply foolish.

Any NK provocation will lead to SK attacking.

Park Geun-hye is no joke. North Korean operatives tried to kill her father twice. A North Korean sympathizer killed her mother. She has a deep seated hatred of the Kim family. I honestly HOPE NK is not stupid enough to pull anything like the Cheonan and Yeonpyeong. Park would not hesitate to retaliate with excessive force.
