I've just listened intense ( wasnt expecting a good album already ) and it is realy annoying.Wanna make it clear first this topic is not about intense,it is about freaking Dutch djs.Why are they like that ?
Ferry,Tiesto,Armin,Durand,Bolier,SvD and so on..They always start with trance, get it going successfully for some time and after a while they just up.And they don't just leave the scene immediately, they make their fans suffer for 1 or 2 years by producing music and calling it trance.
Is this a Dutch thing that we don't know about or something ? Release the fury inside if you have any :D

You don't expect me to go on forever do you ?

It's not their fault. Their fanbase just have this fanatical tendency to build them up as Gods, when in fact they're just savvy business men in the music industry.

Once dutch trance was great. Now it's .

If you're going to make a point regarding the quality of DJ's of a certain nationality then yes, I would like to see more then a few names. But alas, I'll bite:
If there is anything quintessentially Dutch about the guys you mentioned it's that they have an eye for business opportunities, or at least a very good manager. After a good run in local clubs during the nineties or early 2000's they started looking for more profitable markets. The biggest one of course being the overseas, were dance music was a slumber. The internet was used to achieve this, but it meant the music had to become radio friendly and consumable by the masses. A small sacrifice to be made for potential profits that were then unheard of. They are not musicians any more, they are producers in the literal sense. They make a product, shaped to whatever the market wants. Old age breeds relativism as well as cynicism, enough for them to stop caring about trying to achieve something artistically relevant. They are entertainers, their only goal is to make people dance, as many of them as possible. Rather then spend their days trying to please a small, spoiled underground audience they chose the more sensible path. And who can blame them for it?

EXACTLY.I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw tons of fans writing stuff like ''Its not good, armin has changed very much but still I'll support my favorite artist and buy this album'' or '' he is bringing fresh sounds to trance,it is the evolution of trance it should evolve''
I m not saying that it shouldnt but not this way at least.

Please change the title to "Dutch Trance DJs" instead of "Dutch DJs" it's really not fair to all the ones that have absolutely nothing to do with what you are talking about.

I still like Durand, but I guess he's been my favourite DJ for years and I have a soft spot haha. I saw him a few weeks ago and his set was really good and not generic cheese like most "trance" DJs nowadays. Even spun his remix of Flight 643 and the club went crazy.
As for the others, well its not just dutch trance DJs but most trance DJs in general just going the pop music route (but still calling it "trance") and profiting from the popularity of it, regardless if it sounds ty..
Trance-MB
They had a good look at ID&T, you already know the result.

Correct me if I'm wrong... If Tiesto would've still been spinning trance you think these other 'trance' DJs would've changed styles? I think not..
