How did they change it from Moskito? Looks like they got more lighting but that's all I can tell from the pics.

They didn't change much (thank god) but what they did change (from what I noticed because it was so rammed on Sunday) was:

1. 2x parralel light rails on the ceiling. It wasn't bright at all or overpowering, in fact I thought it was a great addition.

2. Sound system. They finally tweaked it right this time! It wasn't nearly as bass heavy/distorted as before they closed. It was very well rounded and delivered a solid punch. Mids and highs were super crisp. In fact, they could increase the bass a tad more with a big crowd like that and it would be perfect.

3. Smokers pit changed location. They moved the smokers pit to the back alley which reminded me of a Circa/Zone patio (layout and all the graffiti).

They need to add some sort of ventilation. Bring those old guv industrial fans in. The one a/c vent near the back speakers is NOT enough. It was a sweatbox in there.

Overall I found the renovations to be tasteful without hindering the original udnerground/bare bones atmosphere of the club. I'm glad to see it re-open.

PS get more bartenders next time! 2 bartenders per bar is NOT enough when you're at/over capacity ;)

That's what I like to hear! Love hearign the smoking is now in the back, makes a lot more sense and the much needed sound system improvement. They really do need to work on the ventilation though, theUmek & Mark Knight party after DD was painfully hot but I loved it.

the main bar on the west side of the room is now on floor level.... the east wall of the club that was elevated and had tables all along have been shorten half way and lowered to the main dance floor level where another bar now stands.... pretty much they flatten out the whole back half of the club... the washrooms are in the same location but are still elevated and the south east corner is now coat check...

i though the 2 level thing was kind of cool, but the extra bar is awesome.... but as mentioned what good is an extra bar if you only got 2 bartenders working it....

i really couldnt beleive how hott and busy it was... and $45 bucks for nicole was a bit much... but hey she played a hell of a set so i will cease my complaining lol

still one of my fave spots in the city...

I was a bit skeptical at first as to how this place would turn out given the cheesy name & marketing, but after seeing the changes and considering the success of last weekend's event (plus seeing more of the upcoming bookings), I'm glad to know that that apprehension was unwarranted. And I'm hopeful that it'll at least last longer than Moskito.

Nice article on the closing in NOW magazine. They mention the new space is DOUBLE the size of FW :D :D Also, mentioned is that their Hallowe'en Party is one in a series of parties before they shut down all winter long to renovate.
