The only drawback to that night was that it was so packed and hot, it became very challenging near the end, trying to keep up with the audio onslaught.

Really? Maybe it's because our crew dominated such a sweet spot that I don't think it was either too packed or too hot. It was just the right amount of everything, I thought. Full but not rammed - enough room to dance, everyone very polite. My friend and I were in full costume + make-up, etc., and even we didn't find the heat or crowd overbearing. I didn't even really start dripping sweat til the very end, and normally I'm a pretty sweaty clubber, lol (and yes I did rave my face off hard all night :p ). |

Take that as a lesson that the universe rewards the faithful and optimistic. :o :o

I think it's better this way, actually ;) |
I have to second this. Makes the whole night more epic, and special. |

Not to detract from the point of the thread, but honestly when you have to drive 2 hours to get there and back every time, and you sit through 10 mediocre Stereo parties in a row before calling it quits, the lows outweigh the highs. I miss those incredible nights more than anything, but it's just not worth what it takes to find them for me any more. I'm glad everyone got their reward for being troopers though. |

| Well maybe Digweend not playing at stereo for a decade and coming back for a Halloween party should be a hint ( this might be a good one ) ... |

Ew, drive? We flew! Because being an adult is all about paying for convenience. :p ;)
But yeah I hear what you're saying. It's partially the reason (although a very small part of the reason) why I don't go out as often anymore. Since I have become more selective about the parties I go to, I have found that pretty much EVERY party I go to is awesome. It also has to do with expectations, and although I consider myself a discerning listener, I have never gone out with any other expectation than to simply have a good time dancing to music I can't hear at any old club/bar, with my closest friends and other like-minded people.
I think that, ultimately, one has to keep an open - almost naive - mind. Gotta tune out all that other bs that comes with years of raving and not take it so seriously. It's what has worked for me, at any rate. :)
And yeah, what Romchik22 said. *points AND laughs* Lolololololol |
