i love you bro but..

rissinite hit on the money - these labels are the ones pushing boundaries, creating new sounds and doing something special.

i love me some adam beyer, richie, etc but most of those guys aren't doing anything special at this point - their labels perhaps but now they have just have brands that they're building and milking. sorry but richie is the most commercial "underground" DJ i've ever seen lol. he is an absolute legend but today, he's just milking ENTER. for what it's worth (good for him obvs).

anyway - point being - i'm not sure what too eclectic means but as someone from NYC who spends most his time complaining about how dry and overplayed everything is, i welcome that over the generic stuff.

chris, i'll tell you this - just give it a shot. i know you have a great taste and open mind. it gets to the point where it's not about the boom and the drop and the bangin' stuff. idk maybe it's just me but that gets old after a while. to me, it's all about the journey, the repetitious sounds that turn into a mind, the new sounds, etc. that, to me.. is "banging" :)

Tired of Richie and that .Enter .

You guys are dead on about this new on the edge type of deep house with very new sounds. I been loving it. It was weird to even see Sven going off the deep end at cocoon heroes last year since he is so well known for his hard euro techy type sets... Even the greats are moving with the times. Some of the other greats just aren't

Art Basel is better than wmc when it comes to this new ground breaking hipster that a few of us have been living as its a bunch of eclectic art wanna be people in town who love anything that is different from the ordinary. This shows in the party's going down. I'm looking forward to gerber at treehouse and I hope everything falls through like it should so I'm down there. Don't want to get too excited cause that's when things come up.

dude, these guys have been on fire all year. they are in one of my top 3 party moments of the year..

i was at the robot heart halloween party in brooklyn last month - which was already RIDICULOUSLY over the top. at around 330am.. deep into art dept's set.. place was bumpin'.. and slowly.. they drop the TofU remix of primitive people and the ing place went OFF. you just hear a massive roar from the crowd and the party went 10 levels further. oh man.

anyway, next day, i run into them at 6am on the roof deck of output cuz they were there supporting tale of us who was playing downstairs. ended up BSing with them for an hour, telling them about the night before and what not. super cool guys but man do they party lol.

No I'm not trippin, it's just the sounds that I prefer.

I've been to the deep house parties. I simply prefer techno and tech-house much more. It moves me, it speaks to me. Repetitive or not, "commercial" or not, I like the sounds that I like. All those adjectives don't matter to me because I don't really pay attention to the labels. And here in Florida, none of this music can be considered anything BUT underground (well in Tampa and Orlando anyways), unless you start talking about EDM crap. I understand the point about the music pushing boundaries and creating new sounds, but I'm not about to start liking a particular type of music just because the hipster crowd does. I do think I'm open-minded, but not so much where I'll get absorbed into genres of music that I don't really find entertaining.

It would be pretty weird if we all liked the same thing. And like I said, it's not as if I dislike the music, I just don't really enjoy those deep house/dub-tech Supplemental Facts/Visionquest/L&D shows like I do the other shows. Again, it doesn't move me or speak to me. You're from NYC...I'm from Orlando/Tampa. Frankly, I don't get to go to as many good shows as you guys do. During the summer, we have jack going on here. It's Miami or nothing. I will admit though that certain DJs from that camp have put on what I consider great shows -- Ryan Crosson at Suite B last year, Guti at Space last WMC (but not tINI earlier in the night).

And I gotta say, I like much more types of techno than what I listed in the previous post -- I guess you could say I gravitate towards techno, period, and not so much this deep house/dub-tech style. Look at DEMF lineup...for the most part, that's the kind of that I like. Everyone from Carl Craig to Aril Brikha to the Ostgut camp to Martin Buttrich to Fatboy Slim. Just thought I'd clear that up :D.

But I mean hey, I'm down to meet up with you and your crew during WMC for a good event at the Pickle/Treehouse or something. Was a blast last year that Friday night at Space. You're going to WMC right? :toothless

still one of our favorite nights of clubbing ever. or should i say morning? or afternoon? we've famously titled that party the "space graveyard shift." HAHAH.

i may not do WMC (first time in 6 years) as we booked DEMF already, maybe BPM and ibiza on deck in the summer. but knowing me, i'll probably end up there even if it's just the weekend. and you'll have no choice but to come with us to a party!

Yeah that was a ing great time dave. By the time I left I'm pretty sure I was totally delirious -- drove by Biscayne Blvd and the streets were already packed with Ultra kiddies. Lmao.

But just to illustrate how weird I am...I listen to a lot of the Visionquest/Supplemental type of all the time as "chill" music, usually when I'm by myself. I was speaking earlier from a going-out, let's-have-a-good-time-and-party perspective. In those situations, give me techno or tech-house. Or a realllly good trance/progressive set.
