Thank you. That did not help watt so ever. Let me rephrase the question then. I need names of record labels to send my track to and I have trouble finding record labels with a similar sound. A sound that is according to some on this forum very common. I have searched on beatport under progressive trance and progressive house but was not very successful. So I made forum. With yes maybe somewhat rhetorical questions none the less a sincere questions needing some sincere help. But of course some are willing to contribute to this and others are not. Guess what category you belong too?

Thanks men thats a great compliment. But I understand what you mean. I think that with out the vocals it fits in the traditional progresive trance genre much nicer.

Yes, sounds very much like mid-00s era Holden/Schulz twinkle prog. This track would not sound out of place on a Balance compilation.

And not bad at all. I enjoyed it.

To answer your question: Never be a slave to trends. Just make the music you want to make, and what anyone else is doing.

Ironicly I am from that era. It is also rather disappointing because I was trying to find a alternative from techno because all techno has become so incredibly slow. (my roots lie in Techno that is why I am less familiar with trance) And what do I make? Apparently prog trance from the same era when Techno was still good. Perhaps I am getting too old or something ;) But hey? At least you compared to me Holden/Schulz. So for old prog trance I seem to do oke :P

From a creative point of view I totally agree. For somebody that really likes to build some sort of career. not very practical. I have been doing my own thing for a long time. I get some great responses. Yet never have played on stage, or released a song. Then you start to ask yourself. Hmmm perhaps it is time to adapt. Does this make me a sell out? Probably. But I wouldn’t be If I actually sold something in the first place :P So right now I am trying to find a balance. Do my own creative thing. Yet package it in a way that I can sell. My best attempt right now is being called oldschool progresive Trance on this forum :P

Tracks posted in these kind of threads are an utter fest most of the time, yours isn't. Solid track. Nice progression, nice drive, good melody. I'd call it progressive house (lots of prog house around 2004-2007 has a similar built). Nothing new or innovative of course, but way better than most of the music produced these days.

Wauw great comment. Extremely useful, honest and a great compliment. And I totally agree on music use to be much better sounding. In fact that is really the problem that I am having. All the genres have changed so dramatically. That I am really having trouble fitting in. And know where to look and what to make.

I respectfully disagree with that statement. Give yourself credit for taking the time to produce something of lasting value for yourself, let alone others you have never met. If you make Rjen Music, then Rjen Music it is. :toocool:

ThThanks but I guess I am just not that confident about my own stuff. And there are two reasons for that. One is that I am too much of a perfectionist. While you listen to a song and hear the things that you like. I listen to my song and hear the things I don't like. The second reason is because I have nothing to back it up. If I had any release or success I could say. it. I have proven that I am capable. And perhaps there is a third reason. And that would be that I need to grow a pair of balls. :P

BTW to all you DJ's out there. I am ashamed to say that I hardly ever bought either progressive trance of progressive house. So I have absolutely no knowledge what labels makes what. So if the DJ's could give me some names. That would really be so useful. This question also applies to my song Siddhartha.

I think it will probably fit in the progressive trance category. But again have not the slightest idea what labels makes this stuff and where to find it!! If somebody gives me a name for a label and it end up being released I promise that I will credit your help and this website in any way that I can. Because you can’t imagine the frustration to create something that sounds right according to all the standards took years to get that far and then just get stuck simply because you don’t have any knowledge about labels that fits with that genre.

Haha speedy Gonzales rules :P

Well, if you avoid assumptions about the people you share your music with..

that might just be a considerable starting place for improving your confidence as a producer. :toocool:
