Sample Magic A/B - lets me save/call up reference tracks and play/loop them from anywhere
Flux Sample Grabber - this little plugin sends the output to the Pure Analyzer metering software
Brickwall limiter - set to -0.1 dB. Its only purpose is to catch "overs"; not for loudening. |

No, it's just a fancy metering system for visual analysis of your music. It operates in standalone mode, and the Sample Grabber plugin sends the signal to it.

Usually in this order
ProQ - Subtractive tidyness.
The Glue - Glue
Elysia Master Compressor - Space (linked left/right channel preset then adjust to track)
ProL x 2 - Limit in stages with the final one set to dither to 16 bits too.
It's just a chain I've found works for me, although it's always something I do last rather than while I'm mixing. |

| just a tiny compressor to destroy all dynamics and then a limiter to make sure everything sits right in there as close to zero as possible without clipping. i hate digital. |

ITB TB Barricade and sometimes reelbus, ITB all you need really.

OTB my beloved 2500 + 5500 combo into a HM2 Nail compressor, or sometimes the SCL-1 if i want loud AND transparent
It depends really...
but starting dec 15th they all will run into a TASCAM DA-3000 DSD recorder. I'm capturing my analogue chain in DSD going forward, capturing the full potential of analog with WAV and MP3's conversions at no extra cost. So if any of you want to release onto SACD? I'm your man! :D |

1. Peak/RMS Meter
2. Saturn
3. Peak/RMS Meter
4. The Glue
5. Peak/RMS Meter
6. Pro-L
7. K-12 Meter
I like my mix to come in at -3db and stay that way right up until the limiter. That's mainly what all the peak/RMS meters are for, but I also like to see the RMS change between each plugin. I use the saturation modes in Saturn to limit wild peaks in a colourful way. The Glue is for loudness. Pro-L is purely for limiting at -0.2db and stopping ISPs. If the result is almost permanently in the red on the K-12 meter, then I have won. |
