| Well, it’s a shame that a change of tempo spoiled the mix for you, but I wanted to create a dynamic mix with moments of downtime and changes of direction to create a sense of narrative. There are a couple of big tempo shifts in different directions but I made sure to reset the energy with ambient interludes so the switch isn’t jarring. This really isn’t a dancefloor simulacrum mix, it’s a concept mix. I want your imagination to fire up and fill in the blanks with images, locations and scenarios. The whole “soundtrack to a film that hasn’t been made” spiel, essentially. |

| Alright. Thanks for the review, Psyshell. Sorry you didn't like it. There aren't that many tracks in the genre but I found some pretty good ones imo. Guess your tastes are just vastly different than mine. |

This mix was interesting, but I think honestly the main effect this is going to have is me finding and listening to your other mixes and asking for you to upload some more somewhere. |
You can find most of my old mixes archived here: http://old.mixcloud.com/jack-moss/. I've just got a premium Soundcloud account so I'll be uploading my old stuff on there when I can be bothered. Also, if you enjoyed my other drum 'n bass mixes stay tuned for my next mix in a couple of weeks, once this competition is over. |

| I might take a look later today. Depends on how I'm feeling after I eat breakfast. There's obviously not much point listening if I'm in an "all music is annoying" mood. I don't use mixcloud because it doesn't allow downloads. |

This isnt at all related to this thread... but I don't use mixcloud (or listen to mixes on mixcloud) because they don't show tracklists. I refuse to waste any of my time listening to any mix without knowing what I'm getting into first. I understand why they do it, I really do. Lets be honest: 80%+ of mixes out there are pure crap and I'm not going to roll the dice that X mix on mixcloud will be The One and spend 30 minutes of my time realizing that the DJ sucks. I can't always tell if I'm going to like a mix from a tracklist, but I can at least get a general idea (having been a DJ for almost a decade and been involved in most genres at one point or another, I can generally recognize artists and labels very quickly)
(This has nothing to do with System-J's mixcloud mixes which I'm sure are all superb.) |

| My thoughts 40 minutes in: It's been a bit "eclectic" as Bierheld and SJ have said but there's definitely been a wide variety of interesting tracks and I feel like it overall has some flow and an overall mood to it. There's been some nice directions it's taken at times. [just finished]: Well I think it's fairly interesting overall, I'll give it a listen another time as well. There's room for improvement but it's pretty good for chilled out techno/ambient music listening. |

| This forum upgrade might cause me to extend it even further. I gave everyone plenty of time but if everyone can't get it in, that will be a huge disappointment. |
