Well some people are, I would concede as well. Can't speak for the others though.

Maybe just let everyone make a plea for his theme and let zip decide in the end? It would be all like democratic and stuff.

Not that it's a big deal but my suggestions were two themes, dark or space(y). I think together it is too narrow. They're just two mix ideas I've had for a while but never sat down to pick tracks for them so thought i'd throw it out there.

I can see where i'd begin for things like 'video games' although it wouldnt be a long mix, as far as sci fi/fantasy, i dont even ing know where to start lol
e: re-read a post and see that things like space would fall under this. wasn't thinking broad enough

If I were to veto something it would be "New York City". I guess I can see being open to interpretation but there's a chance people haven't been to NYC so why would we make them do a themed mix on a city which they have never visited?

Also, can I get some clarification on what exactly FUBAR is?

ed Up Beyond All Recognition.

Have you never seen Saving Private Ryan?

There's loads of TV shows and movies set in new york city though. I'm sure everyone would've seen at least one. Also, presumably the theme really is essentially what it means to you. It's not really important if people get the mood of a city "wrong"... and it'd be quite hard to tell if they did anyway. Also as far as I know there isn't much electronic music that is fantasy themed outside of psy/ambient/ebm.

Well, I may as well sign up and also nominate "Science Fiction". I can always drop out in the next stage.

Out of all the categories, Science Fiction was the one that had the broadest scope, with the most opportunity for interpretation. Please include "Hacking/Cybersecurity" and "Dark/space" as sub-themes to this selection.

I also suggest you take a look at these additional sub-themes if you'd like to refine your mix scope a little more.

The contest begins now. If you have already signed up, you cannot drop out.

You have until February 3rd to complete your mix. It's not like I can stop you from posting if you complete it outside that time frame, but you will not be eligible for the next challenge if you do not complete it in time.

Also, I have removed the second challenge listed in May for the dropbox/master crate mixes. We will see how this challenge goes and look to add new categories as time goes on. The traditional genre challenge is still scheduled for September.

Good luck, and happy mixing!

Sounds good, listening to some potential tracks for the challenge right now. Thanks for running the challenge Ziptnf!

Sweet. Was kind of hoping it would be that one, although I liked the fubar idea as well. Let's get to it then.
