I know this isn't exactly production related but I wanted some thoughts and feedback on the artist name "rainbow Jeremy". |

Rubbish. Silly. That being said The Beatles is almost as bad.
Why the do you need validation from intranet strangers for this? If you like it go with it, if not you know what to do. |

Could have formulated the words to sound a bit nicer. Seriously, find something you like and go with it. Most artist names are , but so what. If the music sucks the best name in the world will not save it and vice versa. The artist makes the name.
Unless your name is rainbow Jeremy, in that case your music better be pure genius. |

Rule no.1: Google whatever name you're going to pick. See what comes up.
In this case, some shoes that are outrageously gay and then some very weird facebook profiles.
Rule no.2: Does the name sound like it conveys anything?
In this case, I get slightly disturbing vision of Ron Jeremy doing a cameo on the 70's children's show Rainbow. So many shades of wrong.
I personally think most people should just use their name or otherwise think about your music, what it stands for then pick things that compliment. Also, pick something that has meaning or at least has a back story.
Rainbow Jeremy is pretty much meaningless (, unless it's your real name in which case I'm sorry) - It means your name is Jeremy and you like Rainbows. Not exactly deep.
Case in point: Frank Music chose his name as if Grandad who taught him music was called Frank, and it had a double play on the meaning as many descibed his early singing work and his persona as honest or "frank".
Be careful with "funny" or ironic names. Rob Da Bank openly regrets the day he chose that name as after he got big there was no re-branding.
It can work in your favor though if done right; Jaques Lu Cont was one of the names for Stuart Price. He had quite an ordinary name and wanted to create something got a bit of attention, so tongue-in-cheek, he references the wave of French EDM popularity (Daft Punk, Cassius etc) and throws in the "Lu Cont" (with a bit of spoonerism) to raise some eyebrows.
The Chemical Brothers made a schoolboy mistake by naming themselves the Dust Brothers when they started out. They get big, realize they are facing a massive lawsuit from the original Dust Brothers, anf have to name change.
They work it to their favor by calling their next Album - The Chemical Brothers - Exist Planet Dust. |

It wasn't though if you knew the context. Firstly, naming your band after a group of things was all the rage then: The Animals, The Byrds, The Trogs, The Stones, The Who, The Monkees, The Four Seasons etc.
Also, it was the done thing to slightly alter the spelling or have a double meaning (see Byrds, Monkees etc), and in their case it was quite clever - Their sound was known for the "English Beat" - that new backbeat sound was their signature - so The BEATles is actually quite smart when you know the anthropology. |

Wow you really dropped some knowledge there, yeah I feel like my legit name is way to ethnic and long to be markatable in any shape or form (Roman paniagua) so off it is to come up with something short and clever. Something like d'angelo or even airwave is pretty bad ass.I am sure a lot of you have gone through several name changes in the past For instance I have played at a few venues as rebel9ine and I lost interest in that , I mean I'm pretty sure I stole it from a ta sub consciously. |

Whatever you do, please don't go with another ing spoonerism artist name. It's about the lamest, most unoriginal fad going around these days. |

Try doing something like this:
Rainbow Jeremy > Rainbow Rejemy > Rainbow Rejyme > Rainbow Regime
Trademarked. |

Advice on a name? Really?
That should be something meaningful and personal to you. Make up random and you end up with something like deadmau5. |
