Just because I say one nice thing doesn't mean I stop telling Chinese joke.

Slit eye instead of wrist at least you fit in.

Keep joking, Americans will probably be hired as housekeepers by them in our lifetime.

why would you want to buy a coffee shop? sounds like a bad idea.

Perhaps she has good grounds for doing it.

I love coffee, worked in coffee for 8 years and am very passionate about it, spent 3 years learning about the science behind coffee roasting and how to extract the best flavor.

Also its the type of business i get up and running and then once i get a solid team (only take 3 to run a coffee shop 7 days a week, 14 hours a day), i get to step out and pursue my photography to a greater extent and travel while continuing to make money from the coffee shop. It is just a stepping stone that will allow me to get my hunting photography business going aswell, I have people down in AU who want to pay me to go on their trips with them and photograph their trophies and just the day to day life, but right now I cant get the time away from my current job to do it. It will also allow me to put more time into the design and building of a hunting apparel company we have been working on.

The area i am buying my shop is one of the few areas where Starbucks, Thomas Hammer and other big businesses dont run out the mom and pop shops and all exist happily together.

In colorado starbucks has ran out all the mom and pop shops so i dont expect you would understand. Come to the Northwest and see how profitable these businesses are.

I thought so too but didn't want to rain on her parade. Everyone sells coffee from gas stations to mc donalds up to Starbucks and everything in between. I can imagine the allure of poetry slams, live music, book readings, etc.

Even if doesn't work out at least she tried.

The only people that go to Starbucks in Seattle are tourists and Californians. Northwesterners like their independent coffee makers as much as their microbreweries, which is a lot. It's a tough market but it's definitely competitive up here.

yeah im not into the walk in sit down type of coffee shop, im talking the mom and pop coffee stands, you drive up get your coffee and leave. The overhead is much less, the income is much higher.

oh and tips, much much higher. In montana (which isnt anywhere as profitable as washington when it comes to coffee) when i worked in coffee i left with 100 dollars a day in tips in a 4-5 hour shift. I miss those days
