Judging by my FB feed, I must be one of the few who never watched this. Anyone else in this camp? lol

Yeah, I've not seen a moment of it, either. So the way people yak about it at length is really dumb to me, but I know that I just truly do not 'get it'.

I read the books years ago. The first couple are amazing and highly recommend. I haven't watched the HBO series which I assume you must be referring to. I've heard it does a disservice to the books. The story lines, the characters, and the world George RR Martin has created is something special.

The show is awesome, and I say that as an avid George R. R. Martin fan and a reader of all of his books.

The dam fool is likely to die before he finished writing the last book. :whip:

Don't know about the books, but as far as the TV series goes - What began as an interesting interplay between the supernatural elements and basic human politics has now reduced to a glorified soap opera that could easily be trumped by either some dragons or random demons emerging from a vagina. Or the birth or death of some official.

Simplifying those positions have led to a melodramatic and easily foreseeable story arc, sadly.

But I do think it's been made extremely well and the performances are in' ace.

Also, I *heart* the boobies. Teehee!!!!

I've seen random episodes with friends, but never sat down and watched it or read the books.

Fantasy stuff just doesn't pique my interest all that much.

I'm watching it. Hardly the best series ever or anything but well-made and fun, IMO.

The show is amazing, and while some people say its not as good as the books, those are two different mediums.

A show cannot contain all the information that a book can, so for GoT, they have to remove characters, change plot elements, and work within the frame work of a show.

The LotR movies were amazing, and yet they cut a bunch of stuff from the books to be able to fit the books into movie format. Besides, would any of you that have seen Return of the King Extended Edition want it to be even ing longer?. No, of course not.

GoT covers the major plot points, and conveys the story and message that it needs to.
