I was pretty surprised to see that many people in the Circuit Grounds tent with Prydz playing a much different sound than what was on before(Bingo Players, Clockwork)
I give credit to the guy, he is one of the few cross over DJ's that can do it. And I think he gets away with it cause his big room sets have lots of synthy sounds and big builds that the kids like while still bringing in some darker techy Cirez D stuff. |

I wouldn't because I don't DJ (and have zero desire to do so). Apparently you think everyone is or wants to be a DJ. The point of this thread is not everyone sells out. |
And the point of my response was that we should all stop talking about other ppl selling out. It's all a matter of personal taste in music. Just because someone here doesn't like someone's sound doesn't mean that 1,000,000 others don't. Maybe Armin just happens to seriously love the music he plays now? Is he still selling out? What's the definition of a sellout? A person who happens to play music other ppl like because of money? Do we know that Tiesto did that? Or AvB or anyone else for that matter? Nope.
Frankly, I'd rather have someone on my face than listen through an AvB set but that doesn't make him a sellout. |

To be honest I think most of us on TA are old jaded s. I am sure when these kids get older they will think Hardwell and Tiesto were "real dance music" and current stuff is , just like older people thought the house/techno/trance of the 90's I listened to was .(and just like my parents generation with Rock/Metal/Rap)
Who knows maybe the current stuff is good music :conf: |

i actually no youngsters that started off listening to the more pop sounding DJ's but have moved on to Deep House and techno. All signs point to horrible music. |

Last time I saw Prydz was on the main stage at EDC 2013 and it seem to fit in with all the other garbage that was going on there. He may not sound JUST like the others, but he definitely plays to that market.
I used to follow him back in 2006-2010, and he has definitely evolved to a more mainstream sound comparatively. |

considering he plays the same 15 tracks in most of his shows... when he moved to the states a few years ago was his "downfall". vegas, main stage, money over all. his productions are quality and always have been but hes catering to the avg edm fans in the us market now. ya its a darker and more techy compared to the other djs, which are down right terrible in comparison. hes def blazed a trail for that side of the genre the last couple years.
yet one of my favorite mixes i have is from prydz back in '06 @ cafe mambo ibiza... |

| also i think playing EDC will get a bit of a more commercial set from him than say his EPIC shows. |
